12. Navigating the Unexpected with Resilience and Purpose with Teresa Forehand, PA-C
06/20/23 • 35 min
Life sometimes comes with significant challenges that you never saw coming. I’m joined by Teresa Forehand, PA-C as she shares her personal experiences of transition and change over the past couple of years. Teresa is a mom to three littles and has been married for 8 years. She is a physician assistant by trade, but has transitioned to a full time health and wellness influencer/coach. She loves spending time with my family, and creating memories out of simple moments! Teresa loves cooking, and curating recipes that are healthy and delicious for the entire family. In her “free time” she enjoys working in her yard, decorating her house for the holidays, and making people laugh!
In this episode, Teresa shares a very vulnerable and personal story of a life-changing event that has changed her journey in motherhood and her family. Through this deeply impactful story, Teresa and I discuss how perspective of your situation truly can reshape any situation that life throws your way. Life can change so quickly, and Teresa’s experience is one that you will not forget.

11. When Your Inner Teen Shows Up in Adulthood with Brooke Schmidt, MA, LMFT
In this week’s episode, I’m joined by Brooke Schmidt, MA, LMFT as we discuss how our inner teen can sometimes take over in our responses as an adult. Brooke Schmidt is a licensed therapist and married mom of 3 who can relate firsthand to the joys and struggles of marriage and parenting! She can't stand watching couples live in "stable misery" which is why she's so passionate about helping people better understand themselves so that they can stop generational patterns and learn how to cultivate more relational joy!
When you find yourself feeling irritated or defensive in your relationships, there’s a chance your adaptive teenage self is competing with your functional adult self. Brooke and I talk about specific examples that you will find relatable. You will leave this episode thinking about your teenage years and how it potentially impacts your functional adult self.
