Today we are joined by Sergio Hernandez. Sergio is a black belt under Baret Yoshida in beautiful sunny San Diego. Sergio is currently a full-time tattooer and owns a tattoo shop. In the jiu-jitsu community, Sergio is known for the innovative guard he created called Sergio Guard and his incredible flexibility.
In our conversation, we discuss Sergio's journey, training for longevity, training in the gi and no-gi, the relation between tattooing and BJJ, and much more.
Sergio is an incredible person to converse with. When talking with us, he would often pause and think before giving an answer he didn't fully believe in each word. Laurenz is currently a purple belt and the creative director for Hyperfly. He has been doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2009. Laurenz's parents started Hyperfly after putting him and his brother in BJJ to keep them busy.
