“It is better to be a warrior in the Garden rather than the gardener in the war.”

-Chinese Proverb

In this episode of the podcast I talk about our role as providers and leaders of our families to ensure that we are prepared during unforeseen instances and give you 5 strategies to help you become more prepared. This is not the most uplifting of topics, but it is incredibly important. So many people fail to adequately prepare for things that go wrong. It is our responsibility to recognize that things will happen and that it is our responsibility to be prepared to manage them. By being prepared, you are orders of magnitude in a better position vs those who are not. Having a positive outlook and hoping for the best is a strategy, but when things go wrong, and they will, this is not a strong position to start from when navigating a crisis.

Being prepared means having the ability to be adaptive and resilient to unforeseen events that may occur. There is not a day that goes by where you do not see a crisis in someone’s life. Crisis is there when you turn on the news, scroll social media, and have conversations with people. Crisis events occur with our health, finances, with natural disasters, accidents, and violence. The Chinese Proverb “It is better to be a warrior in the garden rather than the gardener in the war” means to be at the ready when need be, as opposed to being caught off guard. Do not be a victim.

If you enjoy the podcast, would you please consider leaving a short review on Apple Podcasts/iTunes? Your feedback is important to me and it would also take less than 60 seconds and make a difference in getting those hard-to-get guests as we expand our reach.
