Martin Knapp: Leveraging Virtual Networking Events To Attract Clients & Nurture Existing Relationships
07/23/20 • 52 min
For many people, networking events are one of the main (if not the primary) source of clients for their business.
So what happens when all of a sudden the world goes into lockdown and social distancing restrictions take this source of clients (and revenue) away?
Well a lot of people freaked out. No surprise there. But it’s even more scary if you’re the one putting these events together!!
However, the savvy ones took a step back and looked at the situation, assessed it for what it was and made a fast shift. They took what makes these events successful in the real world, and went virtual.
That’s what my guest today Martin Knapp has done, and he’s here to talk about the benefits of virtual networking, how it differs from face to face, and share his story about the importance of being open to making fast changes to your offer in the face of massive disruption.
Martin is founder of Bookable.Online, an automated CRM system where you can manage and market your business from one spot, as well as the creator of Business Breakout Virtual Networking which is a part mastermind, part networking group giving members an opportunity to meet other business owners, collaborate, and learn from business leaders.
On this episode:
- The importance of being flexible in the face of massive disruption.
- The difference between virtual and in person networking.
- Misconceptions about networking and how to make it work for you.
- How Hollywood movies can help you to make the perfect 30 second introduction.
- Tips on how to pitch your business with confidence.
- Business lessons from war, wall street and poker...
- How to run your own effective virtual networking event to build an audience.
- Avoid the biggest mistake people make with networking (that has nothing to do with being in the room...).
And much more!

Which is why you’re going to gain a huge amount of value from my guest today, Isar Meitis.
He was an F-16 air force pilot in the Israel Air Force, has an executive MBA, founded a startup, and then became the president of E-commerce for Tourico Holidays, the largest travel wholesale company in the US, essentially running a B2C startup within this large B2B corporate.
On this episode:
- The most dangerous period in any company's growth...
- Are you mowing all the grass in your business?
- The key responsibilities of a CEO that every small business owner has to embrace.
- What being an F16 pilot can teach you about business.
