The landscape has changed for Facebook and Instagram ads yet again due to iOS 14, and we all need to make sure that we are on top of it!If you have been running ads recently, you have likely noticed these changes. You’ve likely heard the concept of building the “know-like-trust” factor in order to convert leads into sales. As a business owner you have to have some sort of strategy for getting someone from the place of not even knowing who you are, to becoming a paying customer. Understanding your customer journey is critical for your business, which is why I wanted to talk about it today. This is something I recently took my October mastermind group through, and it opened up a lot of eyes... Frankly, the customer journey isn’t something that a lot of people teach, but I can tell you that it is a major reason why people aren’t converting leads to sales in their businesses. On this episode I’m going to break it all down for you and simplify everything, and after listening, you’ll see why your offer most likely isn’t the problem if you’re having trouble getting sales. What I share with you today will help give you better understanding of your customer’s journey, and why it’s so important to your success! Before we start the show, I’ve got something to ask. At this time we have over 500 5-Star ratings and reviews on Apple Podcasts, which is great, but I’ve set a goal to get 750 of them now by the end of this year, December 31st, 2019. If you’ve gotten value from this podcast, I’d really appreciate you subscribing and leaving an honest rating and review. Take a screenshot, share it on your Instagram Stories and tag me, @rickmulready. When we hit the 750 ratings and reviews, I’ll be raffling off a book bundle of my top 10 business and mindset books for one lucky winner. If you’ve already left a rating and review, just take a screenshot and tag me on Instagram, and you’ll be eligible to win as well!Want to win a 30-minute strategy session with me? I’ll be drawing one winner at random each month, and all you have to do is give me your feedback on this podcast over at http://rickmulready.com/messenger, telling me what you’d like to hear more of - including topics you’d like to see covered, guests, style and frequency of the show! On the Show Today You’ll Learn: What understanding your customer’s journey will allow you to start doing in your business The 5 different stages of awareness and how they each apply to your businessWhy you should be taking the time to build awareness, rather than going immediately to the next stepContent and marketing strategies to implement at each stage of the processWhat needs to happen after a buyer purchases from youHow I reverse engineer the customer journey starting with my end goal in mindA “real life/hypothetical” example of someone’s customer journey that demonstrates these principles in actionSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today’s strategy session is with Amanda Genther, who is best known for creating custom sales page design for people launching online courses, membership sites, higher-ticket group coaching and mastermind groups. Amanda is in a bit of a transition phase, as she’s trying to decide which direction to go in next in her business. As you’ll hear in this episode, she’s got no shortage of options to consider!Amanda breaks down each of the paths she could go take next, including focusing a course that she’s launched in the past, growing her membership site, restarting her “done-for-you” services work with individual clients, and she has even thought about designing templates for her clients.Of all of the options that Amanda is considering, there are definitely ones that I like better than the others, and I give her my thoughts on each. One of the options is something that could be considered “easy money”, but it’s not what is going to move the needle for what Amanda really wants to do long-term, so I share with her what I would do instead, complete with a detailed launch strategy to set herself up success.By the end of this call Amanda commits to this strategy, and I believe that by committing to just one thing and really focusing on it, that’s when things are going to completely change for her and her business. If you are an entrepreneur who isn’t sure which way to go next, what I cover today can help give you clarity as well going forward. Before we start the show, I’ve got something to ask. On the Show Today You’ll Learn: How Amanda’s course launches to date have fared, complete with revenue breakdowns, pricing strategy, webinar stats and moreWhat blocks she has around launching her online program, and how it’s been contributing to the confusion she’s feltHow her membership site has done to date, the simple launch strategy she’s used for it, and the feedback she’s been getting from her membersThe way that Amanda’s one-on-one client work is holding her back, even though it looks to be “easy money”What is the number one problem her audience is having with sales pages, and an upsell that she could offer them to help solve itWhy I feel that Amanda doesn’t need to just talk about sales pages (it’s ok to pivot!), and what she can do to easily overcome the two main objections that buyers will haveWho she’s targeting now with her lead generation campaign – and the amazing results she’s getting!Amanda’s exciting launch plans for next month, plus the tweaks and changes I would suggest to make it even betterSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

If you’ve been following why I rebranded the podcast to The Art of Online Business, you know that I’ve been thinking a lot about the evolution of my business this past year. In fact, I really changed the lens through which I view my business since the birth of my daughter in December of 2018, which I’ve talked a lot about recently. I felt like I was doing you all a disservice by teaching only one piece of the puzzle, and building a truly impactful business requires a lot more than just Facebook and Instagram ads (although they are still an integral part of it all)! It’s easy to overlook the other critical things that are needed, like having the right mindset, getting organic traffic and building out a team, to name a few. It’s for this reason that I have created what I call the “Impact Entrepreneur Framework”, which is made up of four stages, or systems, of an impactful business. When you’ve mastered each of these four systems within the framework, you’ve got a business that makes a lot of money, is profitable and truly makes an impact on a ton of people! I’m going to break down this framework for you today, and if you’re a visible learner like I am, I’ve created a diagram of the framework that accompanies this episode, and you can find the link to download it at https://s3.amazonaws.com/RickMulready.com/Accelerator/impact_framework_092719.pdf Before we start the show, I’ve got something to ask. On the Show Today You’ll Learn: How I’ve used this framework to hit 7-figures in my business, and why I want to share it with you todayWhat makes up the identity stage and why it starts with having a holistic understanding of your audienceThe reasons that I believe positioning should make up the foundation of your marketing systemWhy the sales system is the most important system of them all – and the elements that make up a successful oneThe biggest challenge and mindset hurdle that I had to overcome in order to scale my business The real problem with having multiple offers and chasing “bright shiny objects”When you should start documenting your standard operating procedures (hint: it’s right now if you haven’t begun already)!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This past year has been full of new chapters for me. I became a new father in December of 2018 when my daughter was born, and that really became a sort of domino effect of changes in not only my personal life, but in my business too. I suddenly got super-clear on what I really want to do in my business, including who I want to help and the kind of impact that I’m here to make.As you’ve heard me say many times on the podcast, Facebook and Instagram ads are just one part of growing and running an online business, but I’ve been actively learning, implementing, testing and mastering many other elements to it. By not sharing what has helped me, in addition to just paid advertising, would be a major disservice to you.I’m here to show you the complete picture for growing a profitable and impactful online business, and to do this, I’ve decided to change the name of this podcast. Yes, you read that right! The Art of Paid Traffic is officially going into retirement, in order to make way for something a little more all-encompassing. You have nothing to worry about though, as I’ll be running through what this all means for you (and me!) in this episode. Before we start the show, I’ve got something to ask. At this time we have over 500 5-Star ratings and reviews on Apple Podcasts, which is great, but I’ve set a goal to get 750 of them now by the end of this year, December 31st, 2019. On the Show Today You’ll Learn: The role that paid traffic played in building my online business, and why I still feel Facebook and Instagram ads are very relevant today The other essential pieces of the puzzle that are needed to build and grow a business with impactWhat this change is and isn’t, and what you can still expect to get each week from the podcastWhy now is the ideal time to do this, and the reasons that I’m ok with the potential risks in making this pivotHow I feel about this transition and the lessons you can take from my decision to make it The importance of never losing sight of your “Why”, and what feeling fear really means for you on your journeySee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
