The Anna Jinja show focuses on the stories, issues, and questions connected to adoption and foster care experiences.
The host is an international adoptee with biological roots in Korea and adopted roots in the United States. As you can imagine, her journey and experiences as a transracial adoptee are multifaceted. Her experiences have been with the pain of discrimination and rejection as well as the joys of self-discovery and learning to embrace all aspects of her identity.

Along the way, she has discovered that she is not alone. We’re all – in some ways – adopted into or out of homes, cultures, communities, and relationships as we grow and evolve. This show illuminates the theme of adoption, in all ways, in our lives. And how those experiences create who we are and who we are yet to be.

Her hope is that through engaging with the guests and creative content, we are welcomed home in this world, cradled in the belief that we belong, that we are worthy, and that we are loved.

So stay tuned, and you may discover your own adoption story.

Do we use our buildings to declare who we are? How far does our heritage influence our collective identity? This insightful album reveals Ireland's shifting attitudes towards its cultural heritage. In 1922 when it broke free of British rule to become an independent nation state, the Irish nationalists abandoned high-profile buildings like Dublin Castle as it was symbolic of their British oppressors, and it fell into ruin. Yet they proudly restored older sites like Cashel and New Grange, which is even older than the pyramids, to emphasise an earlier romantic Irish past. In doing so they literally reconstructed their new identity through obliterating the memories they didn't want to keep and reinforcing those they did. Today, with the passing of time and after joining the EU, the neglected buildings no longer provoke associations with a painful colonial history. St Mary's Church is now appreciated as a bar as well as a work of art. Ireland has moved on, and now embraces all of its heritage. In the audio track, Anne Laurence, a History Professor at The Open University, elaborates on the issues addressed in the album. This material is drawn from The Open University course AA100 The arts past and present.

On the Illustration Conversation we aim to explore our discipline from different perspectives, in order to demystify the nature of contemporary illustration and learn more about how it can be an empowering tool for the liberation of our identities and cultures. We’ve paired up some of our students and recent graduates with a practitioner they aspire to and asked each of them to create an image that signifies a crucial moment on their journey to becoming an illustrator. Through meandering and organic conversation we hope to unpick these images and understand the important moments in our contributors lives that led them down their chosen path. The Podcast is hosted and produced by Maisie Noble, a practicing illustrator and educator, Maisie works as a Senior Lecturer and Year One Leader on Ba Illustration and Visual Media at London College of Communication.

What if your taste in movies is being dictated by powerful voices who don’t look like you, think like you, or care about the stories you want to see? Film critic Wendy Lloyd investigates who’s really shaping what you watch – and why it matters.

In the #MeToo, BLM, and Times Up era, are the gatekeepers of film criticism changing, or are the same old voices still pulling the strings? Wendy digs deep into who gets to shape the conversation, why it matters, and how the stories we value are impacted by race, gender, and privilege.

With sharp wit and a knack for getting to the heart of the issue, Wendy invites fellow critics and commentators into lively discussions about the inequalities still lurking behind the scenes of the industry's most powerful platforms. Who decides what films deserve top honours during Awards season? And why are so few diverse voices holding the reins?

Join Wendy for this twice-nominated Independent Podcast Awards show, as she unpacks the mystery of who holds the real power in film. Blending humour with hard truths in a show that might just change the way you see the movies – and the critics who rate them.
