My conversation with Cynthia was energetic and dynamic but not without profound depth. She shares her vulnerable stories encountering sexual abuse, rape, trust issues, and her time in a prison cell in Italy. Cynthia Garrett's testimony is not without victory and life change. She is passionate about sharing her past as an avenue to encourage people that they are loved by Jesus even on their worst days. Cynthia is completely candid and charismatic in her approach to sharing her story. Her compelling personality creates a warm environment to pull up a seat and listen to her wisdom and insight. She relates to us that we all have the ability to move from victim to victor. Cynthia is generous with her time and advice on this episode! You'll also hear about her unique relationship with her brother, the extremely talented musician Lenny Kravitz.

After listening to her on WID, you will be eager to check out her new book 'I Choose Victory'. When you read Cynthia's book, you'll be encouraged that you can be a victor in this life as well!

Have you ever struggled with pursuing your dream? Sometimes you need a nudge from a friend, a pep talk from a parent, or perhaps an NFL Hall of Famer to light a fire under your butt! Marcus Allen does just that in this first episode of Write it Down! We often need to be reminded that we are set apart and have a purpose in life. This episode is full of life nuggets and compelling stories that will inspire anyone to keep working towards their goals!

Marcus Allen is a Heisman Trophy Winner, 6 time NFL Pro Bowler, Super Bowl MVP, and NFL Hall of Famer. Marcus was a first round draft pick in 1982 for the Oakland Raiders which meant his parents did not have to travel far from Southern California to catch his games. Marcus grew up in a strong family who implemented morals, character, and ambition. While Marcus Allen is one of the most decorated professional football players, he is also one of the most genuine people you could ever meet.
Marcus inspires people to chase their dreams, surround themselves with people who do the same, and help others along the way.
I am excited Marcus is my first guest. When I mentioned to him, my dreams of having my own talk show, he was the first to jump on board and tell me to "get after it".
We all need a Marcus Allen in our lives to remind us to hustle for our dreams much like he did. I am excited to share his story, and I am humbled by his friendship.
Pull up a chair and get your pens ready... because this is Write It Down!

Ian has found great success in the modeling industry and will continue to! He has more to his story than just being in front of a camera. Ian has a heart for The Lord and desires to honor Him in everything he does. He shares with us the passion he has for modeling and the doors God has opened to get him there. However, he also shares with us that he is in a spot in life where he is waiting for more opportunities to arise to take him to the next level. Maybe you can relate to that too! I know I can. Sometimes, it is easy to think when life gets tough or seasons seem dry, that God has forgotten you... but we can always trust that He is working.

Happy New Year! We are kicking off 2022 with an amazing guest and some firsts for @widpod! Local tattoo artist, Cash Combs, hops on the mic not only to share his journey, but he was also the first guest to ever freestyle on the mic. That's right, I drop the beat and Cash spits fire. We had a blast recounting Cash's incredible creative path, and how he overcame much to be where he is now. He went to four different elementary schools, experienced loss, and grew in humility along the way. Cash brings an energy to the show that simply cannot be matched! I hope when you listen to this episode you are encouraged to pursue your passions and grow past adversity. You know what to do, sit back, relax, and get your pens ready!
