Journey to Me & Beyond
Claudia Chan
Who am I? Who are you?
This is a podcast where I share my journey coming back to me, and yet, going beyond what makes up who I am right now.
This is a place where I invite you to explore who you are, where we challenge ourselves to love ourselves where we are, and at the same time go beyond what we're capable of.
We explore topics like relationships, belonging, self-acceptance, courage, dreams, while at the same time, not being afraid to go deep into areas such as loneliness, rejection, pain, suffocation, grief, loss...
From time to time, I'll be inviting guest to come along to explore different topics.
Come along, as we go on this journey to be more us, and beyond.

I always say you have to become aware.
Today I share with you this one question that can help you with it.
"What am I making it mean?"
During our everyday life, situations happen that trigger us. But it's not because of the situation. It's because we have a story around it that is painful for us.
So by asking this question, it will help us uncover what we're thinking and what our beliefs are.

Loving Your Mean Girl
Journey to Me & Beyond
04/01/22 • 14 min
We all have a mean girl within us, they're the jealous part, the angry part, the gossipy part, the condesending part, the resentful part.
Our mean girl is the part of us that we don't want to admit that we have.
That's because this part has somehow been denied, been shamed, been punished.
And we don't want to admit that we have it, because it means we're not good girls. It's not appropriate for us, because as a girl, we are nice, caring, loving, kind, generous, etc.
In this episode, I shared with you 3 of my mean girls.
The envious/jealous mean girl.
The impatient/high expectation mean girl.
The resentful mean girl.
I worked really hard to get to know them, accept them, embrace them and love them.
I'd love for you to see yours for who she is, let her know that there is nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to hide. It's all a sign that there is pain residing deep within us. And we're here to love them fully and wholeheartedly.

Find Your Fierce with Amy M. Le
Journey to Me & Beyond
09/13/22 • 14 min
In this episode, I have a very special guest. She is a powerhouse in the publishing world! Also, she and I are in the same book which we’d written, which is called Asian Women Trailblazers Who Boss up.
I’d like to introduce you to the Founder of Quill Hawk Publishing and the award-winning author of the Snow Trilogy, Amy Le.
In this episode, Amy shared with us her journey of going to America from Vietnam, and how she started writing her books.
Amy also shared with us on how she found her voice, and her strategy on dealing with No's.
If you'd like to connect with Amy because you also want to write your own book, or if you're interested in reading her Snow Trilogy books, you can connect with her through the following ways!
About Amy:
Like hundreds of thousands of boat people, my family fled Vietnam as refugees of the war to escape persecution. Because I was also born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), the escape was extremely perilous and complicated due to my heart condition. In 1980 my family was sponsored to America. After graduating from Western Washington University with a BA in Sociology, I served for twenty years in the tech industry. My world shattered when my mother passed away. I took two years off to mourn, unearth my identity and write my mother's story to honor her memory. The Snow trilogy (Snow in Vietnam, Snow in Seattle, and Snow’s Kitchen) tell the tale of how we survived the war, the escape, the refugee camps, and learned to thrive in a new land.
I am the founder of Quill Hawk Publishing and help authors indie publish their work. To continue my passion for community service, I co-founded The Heart Community Collection, an online cooperative resource for the CHD community. I serve on the board of the Vietnamese Boat People Podcast and am an officer of two writing organizations in Oklahoma. I also partner with Together For Good Refugee Film School, Healing Hearts Vietnam, the Seahawks Booster Clubs, AASuccess, and many other nonprofits as a volunteer and advocate.
For fun, I love to cook, watch NFL, UFC and F-1 events. I have a Scandinavian husband and a 13-year old son who loves football and Vietnamese food.
