In this week's episode, I talk with one of my dear friends Amanda Testa. Amanda is not only a Sex, Love, and Relationship coach but a trusted healer and guide who’s served hundreds of clients over the years with masterful skills in coaching, pleasure embodiment, and somatic trauma resolution.

She helps her client tenderly heal their relationship with their sexuality, shamelessly embrace pleasure, own their sexy confidence, and cultivate deeply connected relationships with her fiercely loving support.

Tune in as Amanda, and I talk about:

  • Uprooting limiting beliefs we’re taught as women about our sexuality and pleasure —> ways to transcend, heal and work through them.
  • How can we love ourselves more as we do the deconditioning work and connect more with our bodies?
  • Beneath the Sheets: Learn why it’s common that women can feel discomfort or pain in the bedroom and why it could be happening to you.
  • Tools/Tips/Tricks to create space to connect with your pleasure, your five senses, being more present, and redefine what pleasure looks like for you.

Join us for laughter, friendship, and real talk as we help you uncover how to love yourself and your body and activate more ways to bring pleasure into your life.

Trigger warning: We touch on sexual trauma and abuse and how common it is for women as we do inner healing around sexuality. DesiRae briefly and vulnerably shares, without details, my journey with healing from sexual shame, trauma, and abuse. I share this from a place of healing and to share my voice to empower us all to love ourselves and create space for healing from it. I received help from my psychotherapist. Please check in with yourselves before diving in if you have the space to hear that.

Transcending Normal - [SOLO] It's OK to not be OK.

[SOLO] It's OK to not be OK.

Transcending Normal

play

02/13/23 • 25 min

Today's episode is all about giving yourself permission that it's OK to not be OK and to feel it all when life throws you an emotional dumpster fire.
The last few months I've been moving through some heavy emotions and many compounded things that have brought me to my knees. As I've been speaking with my other open-hearted female leader friends who are going through the same thing, this seems to be an energetic theme right now.
In our conversations, I've also noticed this theme that as ambitious, female leaders there is an initial fear that pops into our minds that we should have our shit together and handle it all alone.
Listen in as I remind us all... It's ok to not be ok. It's ok to not have your shit together. It's ok to not be perfect all the time. It's ok to let balls drop.
It is normal for any human, female leader or not, to feel things like anger, sadness, confusion, shame, grief, and betrayal. It is normal to have a variety of emotions all at once and even at different times of the day.

Let's transcend that what is actually normal, is your automatic response to what is coming up for you if you’re going through a shit storm, hellfire, or an emotional roller coaster in life, this month, week, or today. The Universe sends us invitations to move through the hard to get to the great.

In this episode:

  • Sharing vulnerably as I’m moving through, feeling, and healing through current compounded life challenges and old repressed trauma.
  • Grieving the loss of your old identity, a person, an old way of being, or a belief that's no longer serving you.
  • Giving yourself permission, and compassion, to be imperfect, let balls drop, and stop trying to have your shit together all the time.
  • Unlearning the b.s. societal ways we’ve been taught as women, not to be emotional or express ourselves.
  • Why ignoring your emotions can create blockages and dis-ease in your body.
  • There is light and dark, moving through the shadow to get through to the other side to help us grow and evolve to get to our higher selves
  • The difference between witnessing an emotion evolve and ignoring it on the surface level.

UPDATE! Starting after this week episodes will move to bi-weekly, instead of weekly. I want to make sure all of the episodes (solo or interviews) are not rushed, and the content is done with intention. Bi-weekly will allow me to take my time and create the content I really want to share with you all in a more digestible, aligned, and intentional way. This podcast has become so nourishing for me and my audience and you can't force things!

In next week's episode, I talk with Lydia Lincklen, a Certified Life and Flow Code Coach. She experienced and overcame burnout personally, and she helps women and men manage their stress and overcome burnout to allow them to find their true authentic selves. From stress to serenity!

She's made it her mission to help other people find happiness, become their authentic self, let them enjoy life, and build resilience to stress. When she helps coach one person, she sees how it indirectly helps even more people around them. She believes in practicing what she preaches and loves seeing her clients go from burnout, stressed, and being overwhelmed to flourishing, which lights her up and gives her energy!

Lydia is from the Netherlands and lives with her husband and 5-year-old daughter in Switzerland.

Tune in as Lydia, and I talk about:

  • Are you experiencing burnout? We dive into signs you’re experiencing it and why things like emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, stress, foggy thoughts, drinking more often, forgetfulness, and low personal accomplishment could be warning signs.
  • Overcoming burnout and tools to help set you up for success.
  • Questions to ask yourself when you’re in burnout to help you re-wire a new path towards recovery.
  • Why burnout, and the signs, is not a one size fits. Stop comparing yourself to others, and learn to honor your needs, energy, and emotional capacity to thrive. This is your life; stay in your lane to live YOUR desired path!
  • Why connecting your mind and body is one of the first steps to start healing and how it’s not linear.
  • Letting go of shame and self-judgment when you’re stuck in the burnout cycle.
  • Even ambitious women passionate about the work they do in the world can get burned out!

Transcending Normal - [SOLO] We All Have the Power to Reinvent Ourselves
play

01/11/23 • 48 min

In this first episode:

  • Who this podcast is for.
  • Intro on me, DesiRae.
  • DesiRae shares high-level in three parts; where she started, where she’s been, and how she got here today. From her upbringing, career, tragedy, entrepreneurship, and through the global pandemic to today.
  • What you can expect from Transcending Normal.
  • Take my hand as we're in this together.
  • Embracing all parts of who we are as beautifully imperfect and complex Humans.
  • We all have the power to reinvent ourselves.

Who am I? My name is DesiRae. I’m a Highly Sensitive and Intuitive alpha female living in Denver, CO, with my husband and two dogs. In 2012 a tragedy in my life evoked a spiritual awakening, and in 2016 I left the corporate world and built a 6 figure coaching business guiding women to create a soul-aligned life, work, and relationships. In 2019 After becoming burned out building a business that was not sustainable and seeing how the saturated coaching industry was also creating unethical practices, I felt called to do things a different way... only to be met with the global pandemic. Now on the other side, I’m on a bridge in-between where I’m creating a new ecosystem re-branding my coaching business, starting this podcast, and completing my master's program to become a future psychotherapist. Showing up imperfect, well-rested, and open-hearted.

I am SO excited to tell you a bit more about how I got here today, where I started, what happened when I finally “made it”, and moving through the death and rebirth of our constant evolution through self, life, relationships, and business. I’ll share the challenges, FEARS, and wounds I’ve had to heal toward creating mental, emotional, and spiritual wholeness. Spoiler: We never fully arrive.

“Healing is not a one-time event. It can begin with a one-time event — typically some form of sudden loss that disrupts our projection of what the future might be. However, the true work of healing is allowing that disruption to wake us from a deep state of unconsciousness, to release the personas we adapted into and begin consciously piecing together the full truth of who we were meant to be.” - Brianna Wiest, Author
