American Indian Wars: Oglala Sioux chief Crazy Horse is bayoneted by a United States soldier, after resisting confinement in a guardhouse at Fort Robinson in Nebraska. Alexander Graham Bell installs the world's first commercial telephone service in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
