Today we’re excited to introduce two new guests to The Wild Dispatch Podcast.
Hans and Adrienne Olufs began their journey as high-school sweethearts with a mutual love of wild places... they’ve since become two halves of a backwoods power-couple.
Creators and owners of West Coast Archery Shop north of San Francisco, together they’ve helped build and support a community of archers, hunters, and likeminded adventure-lovers from the wider area. They’ve also achieved all this while raising a kid, who we should add has successfully chased more big game with a bow than most grown-ups!
Thanks again to Hans and Adrienne for all their great stories, tips, and for continuing to inspire us to get outside with our family!
You can visit the West Coast Archery Shop website or follow them on Instagram and Facebook
And be sure to sign up to the Last Chance Broadhead Shoot and Pack Race weekend too!

EP021: Tracking Leopards for the President ↣ Renias Mhlongo & Alex Van Den Heever
The art of tracking an animal has been called one of the earliest forms of science. The first deductive thinking of our distant ancestors, in search of food.
Together Alex van den Heever and Renias Mhlongo are helping to ensure these ancient techniques survive. Their books about tracking and their very own Tracker Academy continue to enhance tourism and conservation in South Africa — where they both live. While also educating a wider audience about the importance of diversity, the power of relationships in the workplace and how thinking like a tracker is essential for modern businesses all over the world.
Not only are they some of the most skilled trackers in the world, but they also happen to be fantastic story tellers too. Once again a big thank you to Renias and Alex for sharing their time and expertise!
You can visit their main website at alexandren.com or visit their Facebook page.
You can follow Alex on Instagram

Ep023: Dr. Adrian de Villiers ↣ A legendary bowhunter from South Africa
Dr. Adrian de Villiers goes by many names, but perhaps the most notorious is Dr. Death.
—A nickname coined after becoming the first South African to ever harvest the big 6 on foot, with nothing but a bow and arrows. (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, Cape buffalo and hippo)
Despite his ominous title, ‘the Doc’ has been sharing nuggets of wisdom with outdoor enthusiasts for decades. For over thirty years he’s written multiple books and over a thousand articles about hunting in South Africa and around the world. Unsurprisingly this guy has amazing stories and close-calls by the bucket load...
A very big thank you to the Doc for sharing his skills and stories with us today!
You can reach Dr. Adrian de Villers via his email [email protected]
You can purchase any his books: Bowhunting in Southern Africa, Whatever it Takes, The way I see it, and Bowhunting Dangerous Game by reaching out to him at the same email.
