The Wild Dispatch - Ep 007: Dr. Preston Ward (physio for team USA)
play

12/19/23 • 70 min

In this episode Robin picks the brains of Dr. Preston Ward - A physical therapist for team USA Archery and founder of his own practice based out of Utah. Preston also happened to start bow-hunting because of an administrative error... It's probably safe to say he had no idea he'd go on to successfully harvest a bison with a well-placed arrow.
Whether it's chasing animals, or treating people all over the world: Preston is fantastic at what he does. Having easily fixed Robin on a number of different occasions, we knew we had to get him on the pod. In this chat Preston shares his story, his techniques and his approach to getting strong for the mountains.
Thanks again Preston for all the useful tips and stories!

Cole Wilks has been putting wild meat on the table (and in the freezer) since he was a kid. Spending months of each year hunting with a bow, it's unsurprising that he's an absolute pro at wilderness survival.
Cole has featured as a coach on Hunt Warz, made the final 22 in Season 7 of Alone, and emerged triumphant from a 21-day challenge in the latest season of Discovery channel's Naked and Afraid. On top of that he runs workshops, online classes, hosts a new podcast and has a successful channel on YouTube. Suffice to say if there's a wilderness flavored pie, Cole's got his finger in it.
Thanks again Cole for the great chat today!

Today Robin hears how Dennis Mckiver's life saving, death-defying story concludes.
Ever wonder what it's like treating a medical emergency in the middle of a enormous angry ocean? Why poachers hate it when fish & game work nights? And how it feels to have your parachute fail while falling at terminal velocity... more than one time?
Dennis answers all (and more) in the final episode of this double-parter. Thanks again to Dennis for all the wild stories!

Thanks again Steve for being so open with his stories, and for all the tips and tricks around everything wingshooting!
