The UnLearners

Africa has the youngest population in the world, with more than 400 million young people aged between the ages of 15 and 35 years.

70% of sub-Saharan Africa is under the age of 30.

Not only this, but with the advancements in trade, the boom in innovation capacity & efforts - possibility looms large!

Like anywhere else and anyone else, if we are going to embrace this transformation - we must let go of outdated perspectives about who and what we are or can do as Africa and grab hold of new ways of seeing, doing & being.

The ReImagine Africa series is made up of short, sharp conversations about unlearning who we no longer are as Africa, so we can become who our destiny calls us to be...

Today’s episode is titled ‘That Brown Skin is Gorgeous’!!

For too long, people of colour have ‘learnt’ through conditioning, that their skin is impure or undesirable.

It’s time to #unlearn.

The episode will help those invested in the growth of Africa to;

  • UnLearn & challenge colorism
  • Understand the impact of colorism of the empowerment, growth and development of people
  • See people beyond the colour of their skin
  • Relearn to appreciate and value people for who they are, not what they look like
