Text us your feedback or questions - we'd love to hear from you.
Today I’m giving you a unique look into what goes on in the inner workings of our law firm. You get to eavesdrop on senior attorney Kelly Bennett...yours truly... mentoring associate attorney Rachael Bennett a few years ago, on a sticky situation.
What happens when you’re going through a divorce, but still living under the same roof? Well if there are kids involved, it can be problematic, especially when something so simple could mean the difference between calm and stormy waters.
I want to remind you: the names, characters, businesses, places, events, locales, and incidents are used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. The information presented here is for general information purposes only. Nothing in this presentation should be taken as legal advice for any individual case or situation. Episode #19 – How to Court-Proof Your Life
Text us your feedback or questions - we'd love to hear from you.
Hey, it’s Kelly and welcome back to another episode of the On Fire Empire podcast. Well, this is the last episode in our Season 2 here before we head into a brief break but don’t worry, I’ve got a few ‘tweener episodes that you’ll really enjoy, in between while we get ready to kick of Season 3.
Last year, I released a video on how to court proof your life by building in some tools like mandatory mediation or arbitration clauses into your settlement agreements and your contracts and some other nifty tips on how to stay out of court. I know many of you are business leaders and business owners, so this is something that I think is really valuable for you.
Conflict is the fastest way to lose money in your business if it’s not mastered and managed. Today, I want to share an encore presentation of that audio, right here on the On Fire Empire. It’s a perfect segue to follow up last week’s episode and give you even more high powered tools to worry less about things that you can control.

Tweetables:
“A great mediator will help the parties take a realistic look at their dispute and deal with it honestly and effectively.” — Kelly Bennett [0:04:56.8]
“The mediator isn’t a judge or a decision maker. Instead, a mediator is a skilled facilitator who explores as many options as possible with the parties to come to a win/win solution.” — Kelly Bennett [0:105:09.3]

Episode #21 – Peace at Any Price is No Peace at All
Text us your feedback or questions - we'd love to hear from you.
Today we have an audio presentation of a video I did last year from our “Kelly off the Cuff” series. You can watch those and other videos on YouTube. I’m talking to you about the concept of “Peace at Any Price”. As we say in the settlement & negotiation & mediation world “Peace at Any Price, is No Peace at All”.
What am I getting at here? Are you so anxious to settle a conflict, that you are willing to give away the farm because you just want peace...an ending to the conflict? I see this all the time... especially in divorce, marital conflict and business dispute situations. I’m going to share examples and give you the tools – to work through the discomfort of negotiation.
Tweetables:
“Sometimes your discomfort is worth working through in order to get a better result instead of selling out in the moment.” — Kelly Bennett [0:02:21]
“Work through that discomfort so you can get to the finish line in a way that keeps your dignity and your financial future intact.” — Kelly Bennett [0:08:54]
