If your value chain breaks it can disrupt your business big time. Value chains are the processes you have in place to deliver your products and services to your clients. This break might be caused by an employee failing to do their job properly because they didn't have the appropriate training. And that’s totally fixable.

The right training process sets employees up for success and helps them become peak performers. Showing them the ropes is more than just telling them not to break the rules; you’re actually showing them what to do. No more guessing.

This episode is the second in Kelly's "Business Trinity" series (Culture, Training, Hiring). Kelly discusses why the right training keeps your business moving down the path to success. It doesn’t matter if there are only two of you in the organization... training is absolutely critical to your success!

In this episode you'll learn the 4 Key Elements to an effective training process (what training IS and IS NOT) . . . When you get your training right, as a business owner you'll gain freedom to operate and work on your business in the most productive and profitable way possible.

Hey, it’s Kelly and welcome back to another episode of the On Fire Empire podcast. Well, this is the last episode in our Season 2 here before we head into a brief break but don’t worry, I’ve got a few ‘tweener episodes that you’ll really enjoy, in between while we get ready to kick of Season 3.

Last year, I released a video on how to court proof your life by building in some tools like mandatory mediation or arbitration clauses into your settlement agreements and your contracts and some other nifty tips on how to stay out of court. I know many of you are business leaders and business owners, so this is something that I think is really valuable for you.

Conflict is the fastest way to lose money in your business if it’s not mastered and managed. Today, I want to share an encore presentation of that audio, right here on the On Fire Empire. It’s a perfect segue to follow up last week’s episode and give you even more high powered tools to worry less about things that you can control.

Hello my friends! Welcome back to another episode of the On Fire Empire Podcast. It’s been a while since our last episode.... but like all good things, they’re worth the wait! This episode and all others that follow with be brought to you in both audio and video.

Today I brought my old campaign sign in from when I ran for city council (and won!) back in ...well... just a few short years ago. Today, I have Lori Stone joining me in the studio. Lori is the sister of former California Senator Jeff Stone – and now she’s running for elected office. I also have Rachael Bennett, Esq. chatting with me about the interview. We reminisce about what Rachael experienced during the time I ran and how that affected her career. We’re talking women in leadership, social experiments in homelessness (Lori learned first hand what it was to be a homeless woman on the street for a day), and a few surprises you won’t want to miss.

Well hello, and welcome back to the On Fire Empire podcast.
If you tuned in last week, you heard my interview with leading criminal defense attorney John Pozza. He’s a renowned attorney and, a lead vocal in his band The Forty Nineteens.
Today’s episode is Part 2 of that interview with John. We talked about normally law-abiding citizens at one time or another who find themselves interacting with the law – either being a witness to a car accident or being pulled over for speeding...or bigger issues that arise that you never thought you’d have to deal with.
We started to share scenarios that may apply to you ... or someone you know... with John giving us some really practical information on how to handle these. Last week we left off with the story of Miranda Carmichael and her husband Joe.
While Miranda was cleaning out her laptop and deleting old files when she came across several files which, to her horror, had lewd photographs and videos and children under the age of 12 engaged in sexual acts. To be clear, Joe was NOT in these pictures. Miranda wants to take the laptop to a marital counseling session with their pastor and confront Joe during the session. John Pozza weighs in on this situation now... as we start Part Two.

We’re in Season 3, where I’m bringing you some totally practical, hands-on info on the Law – Law You Can Use in your everyday life.
I happen to be recording this show on the eve of Tax Day...that’s right, April 15th. And the timing couldn’t be better for what we’re talking about today.
So many people hate this time of year, because if they haven’t planned for it, and if they haven’t pre-paid their taxes...well then, it’s time to Pay the Tax Man...time to get right with Uncle Sam...time to Pay the Piper...ok...well you get it.
If Paying the Piper is a theme that’s been on your mind...then you’re going to loooove this Episode – because getting paid is what we’re talking about today.
Does someone owe YOU money?
Have you seen your business relationships or friendships negatively impacted by a debt unpaid, a loan gone bad?
There’s a whole lot of bad ju-ju that comes up when you’ve done work for someone and they haven’t kept their end of the bargain.
It totally sucks when you’ve extended a family member and short-term loan and they don’t repay it.
It really stinks when you start a new business endeavor with someone, and they fail to put in their fair share of the working capital to launch the business, as you had agreed.
And it’s quite unpleasant when an ex hasn’t paid you the money he owes you under a divorce judgment or other settlement or court order.
Now let’s get real – does this kind of stuff make you want to bury your head?
Instead of sticking your head in the sand (or getting all stressed out about it) – today I’m going to share my hottest tips and tricks YOU can use, right away – to get the ball rolling and collect what’s due to you.

On today’s episode, we’re heading into Part 2 of our interview with Hung Le. If you listened to last week’s episode, you know that Hung Le is an Associate VP and head of the Registrar’s office at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Episode 14 and this episode are about Hung’s totally amazing story of his journey to America as an 11-year-old refugee from South Vietnam at the end of the Vietnam war, and the many hurdles he overcame. As Hung shares his inspirational story, you’ll hear how GRATITUDE became a central theme in his approach to life.

Today Hung and Kelly discuss the recent fatal wildfires in Southern California that nearly burned all of Malibu down, and the simultaneous mass shooting that occurred at a college student hangout in Thousand Oaks, just a few miles from the Pepperdine Campus. A beloved Pepperdine freshman lost her life in the shooting tragedy. Hung and his wife Corinne, and many executives in the University’s leadership were instrumental in caring for a very hurting community and the parents of the young student, Alaina Housley, who lost her life. You’ll hear Hung’s take on life when bad things happen to good people – he was right on the front lines there at Pepperdine.

Tweetables:
“It was my job to continue the family name. Even at 11-years-old, I knew what that meant. I knew there was a chance that I would never see them again.” — Hung Le [0:10:13.1]

“With the bombs dropping all around us, we didn’t know who would live, who would die.” — Hung Le [0:10:23.1]

“I came to Pepperdine looking for a great education. What I found here, was a family.” — Hung Le [0:15:41.1]

The Splitting Smart Podcast - Episode #13 – Forgiveness: The Journey Back to Wholeness Part 2

Text us your feedback or questions - we'd love to hear from you.

Well hello and welcome back. I’m your host, Kelly Bennett and this is the second episode in my two part miniseries called Forgiveness, the Journey Back to Wholeness.
In this miniseries on the power of forgiveness, you’ll discover that mastering the art of forgiveness will have a big impact on both your productivity and your business relationships because leveraging forgiveness, it gets a whole lot of unproductive stuff out of your way and it improves your personal and your work relationships.
Now, if you haven’t listened to Episode 12, which is the first part of this series, I highly encourage you to go back and enjoy it. Because in part one, we shared three very compelling reasons to embrace the notion of forgiveness. It really makes the case for why forgiveness is such a good idea. I know you won’t want to miss it and it will make this episode even that more meaningful to you.
Today, I’m getting super practical, we’re talking about exactly how we go about this business of forgiving. Today, we’re going to take a look at who it is that we forgive and then I’m going to outline what it is we actually do when we forgive. And then finally, we’ll look at what we don’t do when we forgive.

Tweetables:
“The business of forgiving, it’s not applicable to everyone, that’s for sure. Because forgiveness is a well thought out deliberate act. It’s really a choice.” — Kelly Bennett [0:05:42.8]
“I would argue, it’s not fair to you to continue to live in pain at that person’s hand.” — Kelly Bennett [0:08:30.2]
“I don’t want you to confuse forgiving with welcoming someone back to the relationship or back to the fold. What we mean by forgiveness is something that is truly an inside job.” — Kelly Bennett [0:10:54.9]

Are you dreading the holidays?
I know sometimes we think, "oh I have to see that odd ball family member that has such weird views and if I have to listen to them again..."
Let's turn that on its head and get intentional about how we roll into the holidays.
This week on the On Fire Empire Podcast, we are getting personal. With the holidays coming up it is a good time to practice keeping ourselves open to new perspectives and becoming intentional in managing challenging situations. Just as we do in business we must adapt and understand how to pivot.
The majority of modern holidays were born from a religion or faith-based idiology, and there was INTENTION behind their creation.
LISTEN IN TO HEAR:

  • The difference in feeling gratitude vs. showing/LIVING in gratitude.
  • How we can step back and listen and gain a new perspective before judging others and their point of view.
  • A new fresh perspective on the holidays and maybe a theme for you and your loved ones to follow this season.
  • How you can become intentional through practical application this holiday season.

You won’t want to miss this episode – We can't control every situation; we CAN control our reaction and perspective on them.
Happy listening,
Kelly

Think your marriage is falling apart? It might actually be your hormones.
Kelly sees people walk into her office every day ready to end their marriage—sometimes without realizing that hormones (theirs or their spouse’s) might be the real issue. Dr. Diana sees it too. Together, they break down how perimenopause, menopause, and hormone imbalance can show up as brain fog, anxiety, low libido, or emotional burnout—and how many women don’t get real answers until it’s too late.
In this episode of The Splitting Smart Podcast, Kelly Bennett, Esq. teams up with Dr. Diana Hoppe—OB/GYN, hormone expert, and best-selling author—to talk about a little-known connection between hormonal shifts and marital breakdown. If you're in your 40s or 50s and feeling unhappy in your relationship, this episode is a must-listen.
Dr. Diana and Kelly cover:

  • Why perimenopause is often a hidden factor in relationship conflict
  • How hormone changes can masquerade as marital problems
  • What to do when everything feels like too much
  • Why libido issues, mood swings, and brain fog may not be “just stress”
  • What to now about hormone therapy and how to ask the right questions
  • When it’s time to pause and check your health before filing for divorce
