The problem with dairy and eggs, with Jasmine Harman
A Place In The Sun presenter Jasmine Harman chats to Holly about why she went from being a lifelong vegetarian to vegan after having her first child and making the connection between breastfeeding as a mother and female cows producing dairy milk.
They chat about animal exploitation in the farming industry, and how female animals in particular are abused for their reproductive systems. They conclude that veganism is very much a feminist issue and something that the Suffragette movement believed in. Jasmine also shares her experiences of raising veggie kids – would children eat meat if they knew they were eating an animal?
Jasmine also shares her tips for new vegans following on from Veganuary 2022, and how they don't need to feel they're missing out on the foods they love.
Coming up next week: Health hacks from Holly and Molly PLUS meet Marisa Heath from the Plant-Based Food Alliance who is fighting for change in our food systems for the sake our of health, the animals and the planet.
