Ep151. How a plant-based diet can aid fertility, with dietician Lisa Simon

05/11/23 • 55 min

The Simply Vegan Podcast

On today's episode of our top 10 vegan podcast, we discuss the delicious vegan recipes we've been cooking up lately, including cheese and courgette scones, vegan quiche, Niki Webster's heirloom tomato tart and a sweet strawberry galette.

Following our discussion about margarine last week, a listener shares an all-natural recipe they've discovered in Richard Makin's (AKA School Night Vegan) new cookbook. We also review new vegan picnic food from Squeaky Bean and Molly tries to convince us that BBQing in the rain is perfectly acceptable.

In part two, plant-based dietician Lisa Simon joins us to discuss male and female fertility. Lisa shares her own struggle with painful endometriosis and subsequent fertility problems, and how a plant-based diet helped her. We delve into the role of healthy fats, the importance of soy and the impact of positive lifestyle changes.

We also touch on the effect of plant-based eating on peri-menopause, for those in a later stage of life.
