The Metsian Podcast with Sam, Rich & Mike
At 8pm ET, A Metsian Podcast is back for its 29th regular episode! Faith and Fear in Flushing's Greg Prince joins us to help recap the first two series of this 11-game road trip before the Mets honor the Miracle of '69 next weekend.Along with wrapping up the Cubs series, we'll discuss the Mets big change this past week, firing pitching coach Dave Eiland and hiring 82-year-old Phil Regan. Though the age is obviously an eyesore from a PR perspective, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders in relating to the modern pitcher and incorporating the new wave of analytics to the way he coaches a staff that has clearly underperformed. After the first 4 games with him at the helm, how do we perceive the change? The fielding has been atrocious, as they have the least amount of chances out there yet lead the NL in errors. One of the culprits has been the regression of Amed Rosario at shortstop, and they may be combatting that by getting him reps in center field. Is this just yet another example of fitting a square peg into a round hole or could Rosario actually have a future out there with no one having run away with the CF positon?Pete Alonso today broke Darryl Strawberry's rookie record with his 27th HR...and less than halfway through. He could be making a run at the ML rookie record, let alone the Mets full season HR record. Let's just continue to bask in how awesome Alonso has been. And McNeil just keeps McNeilin'. He got the day off Sunday but is hitting .342 on the season. Do we think he will make the All-Star team? And along with discussing the players to wear number 29 in Mets history, we'll reminisce on the 1969 Mets with the weekend coming up and the Cubs series reminding us of their rivalry that magical year. So, join us at 8pm ET for the latest edition of A Metsian Podcast!

A Metsian Podcast, Ep. 30 - The Roadtrip from Hell, with Mets Daddy

At 9pm ET, the 30th episode of A Metsian Podcast arrives, and we welcome Mets Daddy to the show to talk about the dumpster fire!John, aka Mets Daddy, has a website of the same name, which was created in June 2015 at his wife’s recommendation because she tired of him complaining about Terry Collins and the Mets after each loss (she’s not a baseball fan). From there, He's been fortunate enough to write for MetsMerized Online and become an editor for Mets Minors Net.We'll recap the Phillies series, which went oh so swimmingly. We'll discuss the fallout of the Mickey Callaway/Jason Vargas incident involving Tim Healey, and the apologies (and non-apologies) that followed. Is Brodie Van Wagenen really calling the shots in-game via text from home? What would be the ramifications if these accusations turned out true? Can ANYTHING be done about this dreadful bullpen? Why is Robinson Cano SO bad and why do they insist on hitting him 3rd? 4.5 more years of THIS??Those topics plus MUCH more. We'll also look back on the players in Mets history to wear #30.So, join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of A Metsian Podcast!
