Wendy Cartagena - The Invested Millennial
Wendy is the founder of “Invested Millennial:” A community for millennial women seeking P2P investing support & motivation.
She’s one of those inspiring friends I’m happy to keep close not only because she’s constantly making moves upward, but also in the hopes that her financial savviness will rub off on me.
Wendy gives some great actionable steps to take for those of us confused in the personal finance and investing world.
In this episode, Wendy and I go over:
- How her routine has evolved during the Covid-19 crisis.
- The mission statement of her brand “Invested Millennial”
- The type of investing she does and a little background on the stock market
- Differences between a day trader and her long-term approach
- Her resources for managing her portfolio and researching companies
- What I (and maybe you) could invest in if as a first time investor

Cheat Day - Rules For Engagement
The Liver Show
03/16/20 • 17 min
Can I make it a rule to break the rules every now and then?
When things are dialed in, in this case; nutrition, why mess things up?
Can a case be made to have a cheat day or meal "off" the plan?
Let's figure it out!

Orthorexia, work & travel
The Liver Show
01/20/20 • 18 min
I just got back from a shoot in Utah.
Being away from my routine for more than a week reminded me the benefits of past times being "slightly" obsessed with my food and lifestyle choices.
I look at these moments as a blessing as they've allowed me to overcome any challenges I face without sacrificing goals.
In this case; not eating like a fool!
Sleep Optimization
The Liver Show

It all starts the morning before...
Get that sunlight!
From there, the journey continues with a list of old and new practices that I've found (and continue to experiment with) to get my best sleep possible.
Why I eat breakfast at 3pm
The Liver Show
02/24/20 • 13 min
With 9 years + of time-restricted eating / intermittent fasting under my belt, I’d consider myself a pro.
Why am I doing this?
Well, two main reasons -
Longevity (Science stuff)
Personal Preference
Chris Bell - Filmmaking My Way
The Liver Show
05/04/20 • 72 min
Chris Bell is a documentary filmmaker who’s extensive directorial list includes; “Bigger, Stronger, Faster,” “A leaf of Faith,” and “Prescription Thugs” to name a few.
I like his Wiki entry which summarizes his plight quite well:
“His work is focused on the impact that society has on our consumption and addictions, especially to prescription drugs. Chris provides great insight on the ways that American culture forms our decision making. He continues to be an outspoken advocate for those suffering from addiction and their families.”
When the opportunity to interview Chris presented itself, the first thing that came to mind was the fact that he’s one of the most talented filmmakers I know, yet he’s not at all like other filmmakers.
The man goes against the grain in many ways. He seemingly lives life by his own rules in the quest to challenge the status quo. Thankfully for us, we get to see his path of enlightenment unfold throughout his film anthology. No industry or corporate contamination.
In this episode of “The Liver Show” Chris gives me the inside scoop on his recent plant journey experience!
We also get into:
- How Chris used Ibogaine to rid himself of pain and addiction
- The logistics of making a short film about a 3 day Ibogaine trip
- The potential benefits of Ibogaine and other plant medicines long term
- If you want to be healthy, probably don’t do what other people are doing.
- Meat shortage amidst the COVID crisis and the opportunity this presents for regenerative agriculture and ethically raised livestock.
- How Chris cuts through the red tape of film industry.
- Chris’ training updates and daily walks
- How to gain notoriety as a filmmaker using social media
- Building muscle might be harder on a Carnivore diet
- Importance of not being dogmatic with your diet
- Advice for filmmakers on set who might want to make better nutrition choices.
Hypercarnivore - What I eat in a day
The Liver Show
01/23/20 • 14 min
I've experimented with every diet and meal plan imaginable.
How does it make me feel and do I enjoy it?
That's the biggest question on my mind when food graces my lips.
Although the experimentation will never end, I've landed on some consistent foods that I'd consider staples of what I eat in a normal day.
These foods have stood the test of time, (at least the last 6 months); they guarantee that I'll perform physically and mentally at my optimum.
Thanks for listening!
Until next time...
Binge Eating (Part 2)
The Liver Show
02/17/20 • 25 min
1. The "guilt" factor
2. The "sad my food is gone" factor
3. The "key nutrient starvation" factor
Overcoming binge eating was all about understanding and learning how to control THESE principles.

Like any additction, I still wear this affliction on my shoulders at all times. I’m not completely absolved from my addiction to food, but I have largely resolved what was once a major burden in my life.

In retrospect, I think there are some telling signs to what snuck me into this deep dark corner of my eating disorder.
In the next episode, I hope to get into how I got myself OUT of this mess.
