For the first show of our new season we met with Bob Kelly from Bob's Restaurant Review. Before I ever met Bob, I felt like I already knew him. In just 3 short years Bob has made himself into a well known local figure after moving to the Myrtle Beach area from New Jersey. A few keys to his success in branding: being consistent on social media, commenting on and liking other social media content and taking part in community events. Regarding the social media strategy, this is known in the marketing world as "human media" and he has shown how well it works (and without spending a lot of money on boosting). Bob also took time to share his Myrtle Beach favorites with us. We shot this one from The Salty Brews Cafe in Cherry Grove - great food and service, everyone check it out!

Some of the show highlights:

-Bob started his official Restaurant review when he moved down from New Jersey and was experiencing the area. He would send pictures of food and restaurants back to family and friends and saw how interested they were in seeing more about the area. From there the idea was born

-He and his wife Annie enjoy many social activities in Myrtle Beach including restaurants, shows and Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre (also our show sponsors)

-They also love animals and help fundraisers for humane societies. As far as pets, they have: dogs, turtles and even snakes.

-Annie has a business (Annie's Sweet Stuff) making custom cookies and sweets. All kinds of great ideas for business gifts, parties and marketing events. Check her out!

-Rob and Bob got to try a few delicious items from Salty Brews Cafe on the show. The signature meal they tried was the Trashcan Nachos. Seriously good stuff!!

-Some of the key elements of being a fair restaurant reviewer? Bob says - never announce when you're coming and no free meals. Each restaurant deserves an even chance to show what the true experience is like for their patrons.

-Rob and Bob discussed some of the fun stuff to do in Myrtle Beach. Special recognition to the Hollywood Wax Museum and specifically The Rock and Sandra Bullock figures :-)

-:Looking for Italian food in Myrtle Beach - Bob says check out Crave Italian Oven and Bar. Looking for great seafood on the Grand Strand - Bob says to check out The Clawhouse in Murrells Inlet.

-A few tips on how to build your Instagram following from Bob: 1) Follow others 2) Like other's posts 3) Be consistent with posting and likes 4) Comment on other's posts.

Thank you again to Bob from Bob's Restaurant Review, Salty Brews Cafe and our show sponsor, Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre.

Country music performer, Lauren Hall, joined The Leader Mentality Show during CCMF to share so many powerful messages in her journey to meeting her goals.
Lauren is very talented and truly a breath of fresh air in this show as she tells her story. She shared her younger life in which she was shy and had fears in singing in front of others and how the encouragement of her father helped her to develop her talents. Since this show was between her performances at the Carolina Country Music Festival she gave us a glimpse of what it means to be a performer ranging from: short nights of sleep, pre show nerves and goals to get onto the biggest stage.
Some show highlites:
-Lauren's dad first recognized her great "pitch" and she would sing while he played the drums
-She has a new album coming out!
-Her nervousness still happens, but she's learned to control it and actually recognizes those nerves signify that something is really important to you (great lesson to learn for everyone)
-She writes songs from real life experiences and sometimes incorporates past relationships (we have fun hearing about this one)
-Lauren is from Charleston as loves playing at CCMF in Myrtle Beach
-She informed us about the Darius Rucker Riverfront Revival (we want to check this out)
-Also, Lauren talks about what it felt like going onstage with Lee Brice
There are many great moments - we hope you all enjoy.

We were blessed to have Jamie Broadhurst, President of CCAR, join us for this end-of-year special to talk about the 2023 real estate year in review, politics, commitment to leadership and many other hot topics. As President of Century 21 Broadhurst, Jamie leads a very successful Real Estate company in Myrtle Beach and talks about motivation, learning opportunities and personality types.

Rob has know Jamie for many years and has always found him to be a leader in every sense of the word. As President of CCAR in 2023 he spent time traveling around the State and Country to represent this fine Realtor community. He shares more with us on what Realtors do for the community, philanthropic involvement and helping customers and clients. He also touches on the recent NAR suit and how that might affect the industry.

Some Show highlights:

-Jamie is a Myrtle Beach native and is a second generation Realtor (his Mother was a very highly respected Realtor and business owner in Myrtle Beach)

-His fascinating career has spanned the globe including spending decades in Europe in his early career

-He shares the difference between purchasing and selling real estate in Italy versus in the United States (and the huge value of having a Realtor to help with the transaction)

-The Realtors care about the community and each other. He shared info about RAFT (Realtors Assistance Fund Trust) which was created to help fellow Realtors that have fallen on hard times such as illness.

-The future of Real Estate – the tech world is trying to find a way to replace Real Estate agents, but the personal care an situational knowledge of a qualified real estate agent can never be replaced.

-Rob and Jamie shared some thoughts on Dragonboat races including the importance of teamwork (and cardio)

“Be Findable” – something about each person is special and customers will be drawn to working with that person due to that; the mission is to be findable and show who you are (particularly in regards to social media)

Adapt and change – Jamie shared a great leader principle. You cannot change everyone around you, but you can adapt yourself to the people around you to communicate more effectively.

-Jamie spoke about his appreciation of being the President of CCAR in 2023, the experiences throughout the year and the strength of the market. He feels very confident in the next President, Brie Bender, and the rest of the Leadership team.

Thanks to Jamie for a great show and his leadership in 2023.
