the Heart Centered Millionaire - How to Show Up For Your Online Business with Kandice Lea

How to Show Up For Your Online Business with Kandice Lea

04/18/20 • 33 min

the Heart Centered Millionaire

My guest this week is Kandice Lea, an online wellness business coach. Kandice started her entrepreneur journey at 19, but she always knew she wanted to be self-employed. She got her cosmetology license but felt unhappy and burned out working for someone else. That’s when she decided to finally fulfill her dream of opening her own salon, which ended up being super lucrative and successful. But after 7 years, a shoulder injury prevented her from styling hair, and as a result, she dove into the online entrepreneur sphere, and the rest is history.

So what can we learn from Kandice?

  • Being an entrepreneur is less like a job and more like a mission. Most entrepreneurs feel a pull, or a drive, or a deep inner desire that they are destined for something.
  • Your dreams have to be bigger than your fears. Diving in is scary. There are a lot of unknowns. But you have to press on if your dream is worth it.
  • Show up in the online space. Put yourself out there, even if it makes you uncomfortable. The more visibility, the better. Have conversations with your followers and use that for your captions. Look at your insights and see what posts did the best, and then reuse and repurpose old content on your instagram, facebook, and emails.

Finding Your Purpose with Keri Ford

My guest this week is Keri Ford, a high performance life coach. What’s a high performance life coach, you ask? Keri helps people (mostly women) elevate their life in all regards: health, wealth, relationships, fitness, and overall wellness.

Keri feels like she has lived 10 different lives. She got her degree in Advertising & Graphic Design at the University of Delaware, but after joining the workforce, she found herself struggling with her weight and with disordered eating, and feeling purposeless, unfocused, tuned out, and unfulfilled, despite having a cool job. So she quit her job, packed up, and moved to L.A. Her parents, after helping her pay for her college education and watching her work her butt off in a competitive major, were completely dumbfounded.

She got her certification in personal training in 2008. She was able to get her foot in a gym and shadowed celebrity trainers. All the pieces fell into place, and after doing nutrition and fitness coaching, she discovered the mindset behind the behaviors and the light bulb went on.

So what can we learn from Keri’s story?

  • Most people don’t understand. Sometimes you need support from other entrepreneurs who also feel like the black sheep in their families
  • Find your voice, and find your why. When you find your value and your purpose, you can then share it with others.
  • Hire a coach to call you out on your own BS. Having awareness is one thing, but making changes and creating new habits based on that awareness is another.

How to Live By Design with Dan Mendilow

Sometimes we dive too deeply into the strategical, tactical side of business, but this episode is going discuss the mindset and spiritual side of the spectrum

My guest this week is Dan Mendilow. Dan is a Mindset Mentor & Coach and self-proclaimed “Leader-maker”. He helps people to get out of their own ways, and have the correct energy, psychology, and self-trust to unleash their genius not only into their business, but into their life.

Dan was born in Jerusalem, Israel but raised in New Jersey and struggled to fit in, going so far as to reject his heritage and culture at the age of 3. For as long as he can remember, he struggled with depression and self-loathing. In school he was bullied and had difficulty making friends. As an adolescent and young adult he found himself suicidal and addicted to drugs and alcohol until he hit rock bottom and decided he needed to change. Dan tried studying Psychology and Cognitive Science, and even tried therapy and found it all to be slow, basic, outdated, and boring. He eventually found neurolinguistic programming, hypnosis, and positive psychology and things finally changed. He found spirituality and was able to build a multiple six-figure business once he truly embraced who he was and completely changed his mindset and what he believed life should be.

So what can we learn in this episode from Dan?

  • Success is 80% mindset 20% mechanics. Knowing is not simply enough.
  • You can’t live a life that is not yours. How you’ve been does not need to be how you are.
  • You need to both learn and unlearn. What are the rules you have been living under? Guess what. There are no rules.
  • Ask yourself who you are. What you get in life comes from who you are. What you do comes from who you are
