The Great American Senior Show sits down in studio with Paul Foster, an advocate for Human Rights for those with autism.
Paul has been fighting for the cause for many years after a divorce separated him from his now 25 year-old son Cayman. His son, who is autistic, was placed under the guardianship of his ex-wife for what was expected to be a joint custody and visitation. What happened in reality is son Cayman has repeatedly stated his desires to see and visit his father Paul.
A seemingly confused court system for guardianship in Martin County Florida has failed to respond to either the son's pleas or the father's legal actions keeping the autistic challenged Cayman in a custody limbo for many years.
Over those many years, father and son have only been able to see one another for one hour. Not one hour per week. Not one hour per month. One hour in total over the many years the guardianship issue has been shuffled between as many as five judges.
The case is now pending before a District Court of Appeal.
This is Paul's story.
