We’re back with another John Carpenter classic, and that would be 1982's chilly creature feature, THE THING -- starring everyones favorite Kurt Russell (and his beard) as a bad-ass helicopter pilot fighting a shapeshifting entity in Alaska... err, Antarctica. This is our second selection from Lonnie's Board, a first time-watch for both of us (Stanley had only ever seen half of it) and you bet your flamethrowers we're more than heated to slash it up and bleed it out for all of you gorehounds, as it somehow fits right in with our "Love Hurts" theme... we suppose?

It's actually better than it has any right being (we think) -- so join us as we talk Stephen King connections (they exist, we promise), lazy writing, toxic masculinity / evil cheerleaders, production drama, and a bitchin' finale that may not live up to the original exemplary prom setpiece, but it's pretty damn cool! We’ll keep this short and sweet so you just listen to the episode — but we WILL tell you that this is a must-watch, and we hail it a damn perfect movie! Keirnan Shipka is a revelation, and Emma Roberts also shines in this Osgood Perkins-directed gem that everyone should watch as soon as they possibly can. It’s THAT good. Also, thank you all for sticking with us these last five months! It's been such a pleasure talking about some of your fav (and not so fav) horror movies, and we're very much looking forward to more gory fun!
