play

05/14/24 • 18 min

The question I’m asked the most is, “how can we feel good in our bodies again?” Because overcoming negative body image and getting body confident often seem so very far out of reach. This episode is my answer. It’s what I wish I had heard in those moments of lowest self-esteem and what would have helped me to heal sooner.

There is no magic formula or overnight fix, BUT there is one big step you can take today that will start to shift your thoughts, habits and behavior so that you can start embracing your body, no matter the size.

Listen for inspiration and please share this wide and far!

Why is change SO hard?!!!

You can read all the books, try the hacks, and journal a full novel, yet STILL feel miles away from the transformation you crave.

The truth is, you're missing one fundamental first step. It’s something tiny yet incredibly powerful, a step that can skyrocket your personal growth.

I'll be honest with you—it's not glamorous or easy. It doesn't come with a catchy hook. It requires serious work. But if you commit to this step fully, you WILL see the changes that have seemed impossible for weeks, months, or even years.

In this solo episode, I’m diving into all the details and the behavioral science behind why this step works so well, and why other strategies (like willpower and motivation) often fall short.

In this mindset episode, you'll discover

  • Why willpower is NOT a good first step toward self improvement
  • The myth of habit making
  • How to leverage what you're already good at to boost where you struggle

Listen for a personal growth secret that’s stronger than any motivation!

If you’re feeling fatigue, burnout, or just not like yourself lately... this might be why: you’re leaking energy.

In this solo episode, I’m diving into the three biggest energy drains I’ve experienced—and what might be draining you without even realizing it. From old friendships that no longer align, to overcommitting from fear of missing out, to the mental loops of comparison and perfectionism... these leaks add up.

I’ll show you how to spot where your energy is going (and why it’s not coming back), how lower motivation and self-control often start with these hidden drains, and how certain interactions—even with people we care about—can fatigue us more than we know. In this episode:

  • Why even "productive thoughts" like perfectionism tank your nervous system
  • The 3 biggest energy leaks: people, patterns, and mindset
  • Why your lack of motivation might actually be leaking energy, not lack of discipline
  • What emotional labor and “attention residue” have to do with your burnout

This isn’t about cutting people off or hustling harder. It’s about alignment. Energy alignment. Because when you plug those leaks, everything flows better—creativity, rest, even joy.

00:45 — Energy Leaks: What They Are & Why They Matter 02:00 — When People Drain You: Emotional Labor & Boundaries 08:10 — The Hidden Cost of Overcommitting and Multitasking 10:30 — Mindset Leaks: Perfectionism, Comparison & Burnout 18:50 — How to Audit & Plug Your Biggest Energy Drains

The Feel Good Nakd Podcast for Women - #307 The Sky Was Never the Limit: How to Face Your Fears with skydancer Jenny Cova
play

04/22/25 • 25 min

“I’m happiest with my feet off the ground.” – Jenny Cova

What if fear wasn’t something to conquer... but to dance with?

In this soulful and seriously inspiring episode, I’m joined by sky dancer, base jumper, and soon-to-be author Jenny Cova—an extreme athlete who brings pink power, grace, and authenticity to the clouds. But behind a woman literally flying, there's a story of self-doubt and learning to let go of ego.

But this isn’t just about jumping out of helicopters. It’s about getting real with the fears that keep any of us stuck—fear of failure, fear of being too much, fear of the conversations we avoid but know would set us free. Jenny gets radically honest about how perfectionism and ego can destroy joy, and how she had to learn to bring playfulness back into her life.

💭 Podcast highlights that’ll stick with you:

  • The unexpected ego trap that almost grounded Jenny’s dream
  • Why “fail once a day” might be the best mindset reset
  • How to stop waiting to “be ready” and start building the courage to just be you

✨ Whether you’re scared to start, scared to stand out, or scared to step into who you really are—this conversation is your sign.

It’s one of those episodes you’ll want to save and send to the friend who’s so close to going after their dream. Let it be your gentle push to fly.
