5 Budgeting Tips for Content Creators
Today we’re going to be sharing a few ways to budget as a content creator. Whether it’s your goal to take your side hustle full-time one day or to keep it a lucrative side hustle, this podcast episode is for you.
Budget Tip 1: Define your blogging financial goals
Do you have a monthly or annual goal you’d like to make from blogging?
Even if you just started creating content on Instagram or on other social media channels, we recommend setting a high-level timeline for yourself and creating financial goals.
Where do you want to be financially in 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 5 years?
Budget Tip 2: Identify your monthly expenses
Like any other business, blogging can quickly become expensive if you don’t know how much money you’re putting into it and not getting any returns.
I would list out your expenses and identify what’s fixed costs (what you have to pay no matter what) and variable costs (expenses that are dependent and may not actually be spent).

10 Things You Can Pitch to Brands as a Microinfluencer
Today we’re going to be sharing different things you can pitch to brands as a microinfluencer. One of our most common questions is, “what do I offer when I pitch a brand?” so we hope this podcast episode answers this question.
Before we dive into the tips, we define what influencers offer to brands and how they deliver value to their brand partners.
Influencers provide a service to brands by creating content – photos, videos, copy or captions to brands. Influencers are another form content marketing to brands. Influencers help brands:
- Raise brand awareness
- Establish their brand
- Create multiple touch points across the digital/web space
- Reach new or target audiences – for example, if a brand wants to focus on a specific region like the PNW, they would reach out to influencers in the PNW
A few ideas you can pitch to brands include:
Idea #1: Instagram posts
Whether you’re negotiating paid brand deals or you’re just starting out with gifted exchanges, Instagram posts are one of the most common things you can pitch to brands. Instagram is one of the most popular social media channels in 2020.
Idea #2: Instagram stories
Instagram stories are great deliverable to include in your pitch to a brand. IG stories are great way to connect with your audience beyond the Instagram feed. Instagram stories can be a mix of still photos and videos.
Idea #3: Instagram Reels
Reels is one of the newest features on Instagram and is heavily prioritized on the explore page and the algorithm because Instagram wants to compete with IG.
If you’re looking to pitch a clothing brand, you can pitch:
- A 30 second styling video
- An unboxing of the pieces
- Outfit ideas for different events
