Presence over productivity - stepping into a new paradigm
The Body, Brain & Soul Podcast
03/07/24 • 26 min
Welcome to the Mama Brain Podcast!
In this mini episode I share my awareness around my relationship to productivity. I know I'm not alone in feeling like as a Mama, coach, teacher, partner, friend, sister, etc, etc, etc, that I need to be in a constant state of productivity. But when I started to reflect on how that was showing up in my life - in the space of judgement and guilt - I realized that it may no longer be a way I wanted to live.
Through a series of thought-provoking questions (see below), I began to have insights that enabled me to explore my beliefs and story around productivity and find a magical new paradigm to step into - one of presence, ease and flow.
I hope this episode offers you the ability to explore how you're showing up in your own life - whether it be in your relationship to productivity or something else - and find a more authentic way forward; one that feels good and creates the space for you to become the most self expressed version of you!
The questions I journaled:
- What does productivity mean to me?
- Where did I learn to be productive?
- How does being productive serve my values?
- How does being productive feel in my body?
- Before
- During
- After
- In what ways might the need to be productive be harming me?
- Fill in the blank:
- Being productive means...
- If I’m productive, I’m...
- If I’m not productive, I’m...
- What does it mean to not be productive?
- Does being productive feel like a fit for me?
- Is it in alignment with my values, my energy and how I want to live my life?
- Is there another way that might be a better fit for me?
I also tapped into this filter to ensure I'm present to my life:
- Is this in alignment with my values?
- Am I currently living in alignment with my values?
- Can I continue to honour my priorities and my values and fully be present to this new experience?
- Where am I in my cycle?
- Where does this new commitment land within my cycle?

My Money Love Story - Part I
The Body, Brain & Soul Podcast
04/09/24 • 15 min
Today on the Mama Brain Podcast I share with you something deeply personal, something that has been a significant source of judgement and shame for nearly my entire life, and yet the missing piece, that once I allowed myself the space to observe it, I found growth, possibility, inspiration, compassion and purpose. Today I’m sharing with you my Money Love Story.
This is a practice that I learned when I took the Relaxed Money program with Kate Northrup. If my story resonates with you, I encourage you to join Kate’s new FREE Wide Receiver Program - you can register for the program here: https://go.katenorthrup.com/t?orid=381825&opid=157
This was by far the most personal, vulnerable and authentic public expression of my truth I’ve ever shared. But, if just one person listening resonates with this, if my story opens up something within you and becomes a catalyst for you exploring your own money story, then it will be worth it.
What we know is that when we heal our past, we create possibilities for an even better future. And, when good people cultivate wealth and abundance they create more opportunities and do even more good in the world. If you’re listening, I know you are one of those people.
Here are my top takeaways from part one of my money story:
- Nearly all of my habits around money were formed unconsciously through environmental exposure to the people and experiences of my early life.
- Although making and saving money had come easily to me, it also came at a time when I felt highly unsafe and rather than lean into my superpower of earning and saving, my nervous system dictated something different.
- Throughout my adult life, I have always felt that I was doing something wrong by making money on my own and it’s held me back from being more visible in my field, offering more to the world and allowing myself to accumulate more wealth and abundance. This was due to an early experience where a family member made money illegally and the visibility of being associated with this made me feel unsafe, judged and even shamed by people I cared about.
- I learned that my sense of value and self worth was tied up in how much money I had - BUT, that I would always be “less than” with or without money.
- By uncovering all the unconscious beliefs and patterns, along with their roots, combined with regulating my nervous system, I’ve been able to heal my relationship with money and allow myself to pursue my ultimate dreams of cultivating wealth and financial freedom. Not only does this serve me in this lifetime, but also my daughter and future generations to come.
Thank you for listening. I appreciate you!
Keep smiling~

3 steps to transforming through challenge
The Body, Brain & Soul Podcast
07/10/24 • 20 min
Welcome to the Mama Brain Podcast!
In this episode I share with you the 3 steps I took to support myself through the space of grief, challenge and change and come out the other side more connected to my authenticity, more present in my mothering and even creating something exciting in my business.
If you're experiencing any of these things, here are the 3 things I offer:
1. Create a regular nervous system healing practice in your life. It doesn't have to be complicated. I recommend Sarah Tacy, who is the practitioner supporting the Relaxed Money Program (with Kate Northrup). You can find Sarah at https://sarahtacy.com
2. Connect to your vision & values. I highly recommend creating a daily embodied experience for your desired vision. I do this through a 5 senses visualization and my own personal meditation practice. If all of this is new to you, you can simply imagine your desired vision, connecting to how it looks & feels as you fall asleep at night.
3. Create small, simple, doable actions that you can perform consistently. Notice the gap between where you are now and your desired vision, and then break down pieces of that vision into the smallest, doable action. One of my examples was committing to exercise just 15 minutes a day, 4 times per week. Since my desired vision is to be healthy, vibrant and strong, I knew I needed to create a commitment around my own health that I could do, even on my the most challenging days.
I'm also excited to introduce my new Signature Program, From Surviving to Thriving! This 12-week program will be launching it's beta this fall. If you'd like to be notified of founding member enrolment or be placed on the waitlist, please email me at [email protected] with the subject line THRIVE!
If this episode resonated with you, I invite you to share it with someone you know who may also take something away and into their life.
Keep smiling~

How are children are our greatest teachers
The Body, Brain & Soul Podcast
11/21/23 • 22 min
In this mini episode I explore the idea that our children can be our greatest teachers.
In my own life, having my daughter was the catalyst for the positive transformation that I wasn't allowing myself to experience on my own.
If we step into the idea that we aren't only responsible for the facilitation of our children's growth, but that they may also be offering us the learning to facilitate ours, we can grow together and co-create a relationship that transcends our own childhood experience.
In order to step into this though, we need to provide ourselves the space to regulate outside of the chaos.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about how your own children have helped you grow. Join the conversation on Instagram @coachsarahmac.
