070: Eyes Up Lake Norman - Meet Founder and Coach Chad Macy
08/24/21 • 30 min
In this episode we’re featuring an organization that was started during the pandemic, and has been recognized by several of our esteemed guests here on the podcast. Chad Macy has merged his lifetime love for sports and fitness with a deep passion for helping kids work toward a life that is balanced. “Let’s get moving!” is the motto for Chad and his team, and Chad’s concept has grown exponentially over the past 12 months, reaching kids from all walks of life and fitness abilities.
Chad was first recommended to me by Katy Kindred, co-owner of Kindred Restaurant and Hello Sailor, back in episode 31 of the podcast. More recently in episode 39, Andrea and Diana, the co-founders of Mbrace Studio recognized Chad and Eyes Up as a great partner in the local fitness community.
And now, in episode 70, it’s my honor to be joined by Chad Macy to share the story of Eyes Up Lake Norman. Thanks for joining us friends, enjoy the episode.

069: Carolina Gourmet (formerly 55 Prime) - Meet Chef Peter Olsacher
In this episode, we’re featuring a new small business in Mooresville that is delivering a chef-driven fine dining experience to your door. 55 Prime was founded by Chef Peter Olsacher in 2021 to provide an alternative to traditional meal prep services for an underserved luxury market. Chef Peter brings 40-years of professional culinary experience to 55 Prime, and a career that has spanned continents. I had the opportunity to sample several of the entrees on the menu, as well as a steak from the butcher shop, and I can tell you that the meals are amazing - exactly what you’d expect from the kitchen of a fine dining restaurant.
The story of Chef’s career and entrepreneurial journey is one that you’re going to love. Mooresville and the Lake Norman area are lucky to have 55 Prime, and I encourage you to have a go at their menu real soon. It can be found at www.55primenc.com. For now, enjoy getting to know Chef Peter Olsacher, the founder of 55 Prime.

071: Renee Roberson - Editor of Lake Norman Currents Magazine
If you’ve been following this production for a while, you’ll remember back in the Spring of this year Lake Norman Currents magazine wrote a piece about this podcast. The article appeared in the March 2021 issue with the title “The Power of Storytelling.” I gotta tell you I was really honored that they thought enough of what we’re doing here at The Best of LKN to write about it and share a little of our journey with their readers.
So, I couldn’t think of a better way to thank Currents Magazine than to invite their Editor, Renee Roberson, onto the podcast for a conversation. Renee shares her background in the writing world and how she first connected with Currents magazine as a freelance copywriter. She shares some of ups and downs of working as a freelance writer, and also offers some great advice for aspiring writers. Plus, it turns out Renee and I have something big in common - she also produces her own podcast! See, all the cool kids are doing it.
As always friends, I want to thank you for joining us here at The Best of LKN podcast. Enjoy getting to know Renee Roberson, editor of Currents Magazine!
