In This Episode: Jamilah Bashir shares her unique perspective that comes from being at the intersection of education and personal experience with autism. She holds BA and MS degrees in Special Education and Educational Leadership and brings over 20 years of diverse experience in Charter, Public, and Private School settings.
Jamilah presented her workshop titled, "Because of HER: An Intertwined Journey of Sibling Support and Advocacy," at the recent Autism in Black Conference in April. She highlighted the critical role of sibling support in the autism community and shared insights into how her experiences have shaped her approach to education and advocacy, emphasizing the power of understanding, patience, and shared journeys in fostering inclusive environments for Black students with autism.
