She had a traumatic brain injury at eight that catapulted into lifelong struggles, including a stay in an abusive mental hospital. Now she's writing dystopian literary fiction and changing lives!
At the age of 8 Rubie got into an accident rollerskating and suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury). Her life literally turned upside down. Crippling OCD and anxiety controlled everything from walking and talking to even breathing. It was intense and terrifying. Other issues didn’t manifest until later. Rubie slowly lost vision in her right eye until she was legally blind at age 14. In adolescence she suffered from severe hormonal imbalances as a result of the TBI and also hyperglycemia. But the most crippling was the mental health issues as a result of the head trauma. At the age of thirteen, three days after Christmas, Rubie attempted suicide. The damage done at a mental hospital of the following four months took over two decades to even be able to begin speaking about.
Now Rubie has written the book "Eternal Dark" and includes part of her traumatic journey in the pages of fiction. This interview will impact your life in ways unimaginable. Come be inspired, LISTEN TODAY! https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/amandablackwood

Elizabeth was adopted from birth, and adoption always comes with trauma. It wasn't until I got into violent relationships that she knew for sure that she had been traumatized. One man gave her a head injury to the point her skull was showing, he strangled her until her air way was collapsing in on itself. Trying to escape him she ended up with drug charges and was sent to prison. There she was additionally abused and extorted, and witnessed others going through the same, some to the point of death. This interview will impact your life in ways unimaginable.
