Alexandra Derwen is the founder and director of a social enterprise dedicated to community education and development in the field of death, dying and grief, Sacred Circle CIC which offer the Journey with Death doula preparation courses. Author of the Lost Rites trilogy of books (Ceremony and Ritual for Death and Dying, Community of Grief and Ancestral Landscape) Alexandra travels far and wide teaching and speaking on the importance of good death rites and collective mourning practices. A lamenter and keener, Alexandra works with the soundscape of Grief as a force for community cohesion, repair and peace. Based in Eryri (Snowdonia) in North Wales Alexandra lives in reciprocal communication with the rocks, river and the beloved oak trees, a pilgrim, a poet and an intuitive speaker Alexandra weaves story, imagery and life experience together in deep service, of the living and the dead.
