98 // Minisode: Gaff in Blade Runner 2049 (You've Never Seen a Miracle: The Journey to 2049 Part 11)

In the weeks leading up to Blade Runner 2049's release, word spread that Edward James Olmos had been on set. For Blade Runner fans around the globe, this was huge news: Gaff is one of the most enduringly popular characters in the first film, and has become a central character of fan theories, artwork, and more over the past three and a half decades.

The Gaff we see in 2049 is one many of us didn't expect. But his appearance, totaling just over one minute of screen time, is unforgettable.

In this minisode, Jaime and Patrick take some time off from feverish Alien Day preparations (April 26—follow Perfect Organism for details!) to discuss Gaff's appearance in 2049. This is just the tip of a deeper Gaff iceberg to come, as we plan on dedicating a full episode to his character in the near future.
