What To Focus On Next In Your Business
07/03/23 • 29 min
Not to be dramatic, but the internet is plagued with distractions and illegitimate experts.
So let me tell you, If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past few years, it’s that the number of Instagram followers you have has nothing to do with the systemization and automation of your sales growth.
Let’s be honest, you’re probably thinking “What does that have to do with anything about what to focus on next”
Trust me, this statement will make sense by the end!
So the other day, I was speaking with an online store owner, and I asked her what her goal was for the next year.
“Increase sales by 20%” came the response.
So my next question was, “How will you achieve that? What will you do?”
And her first response was that she aims to grow her Instagram followers.
Obviously, she’d made the assumption that more followers equals more sales, even though she had no evidence that that strategy was working for her so far...
As Einstein so eloquently said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”.
And I would add to that to say, ESPECIALLY in a year when things have changed so drastically in terms of how consumers are behaving and how we do business.
Yet so many of us continue to do the same things in our business and wonder why we’re not getting the results we desire!
We live and work in an environment where the only guaranteed constant is change.
So we need to have a method to figure out what is and is not working, so that we can then pivot and implement new strategies.
So, in today’s podcast episode, I want to walk you through 5 tips to figure out WHAT to focus on in your business.

Create Your Own Content Plan With Ease In 10 Simple Steps
Hands up if you’ve ever heard the phrase “Content is King” when it comes to marketing your brand? Or “Queen” in my books!
Now, obviously having great content is what makes or breaks your brand’s marketing and advertising.
But if you’re anything like me and many of my clients – figuring out what that should be is the hard part.
So it gets put into the ‘too hard’ basket.
If that’s you, then no doubt you’re probably feeling like content creation has become like the beast that needs constant feeding.
Whether we like it or not, your content – either paid or organic and across various platforms – is going to be the main way that potential customers discover your brand for the first time.
The simplest way for us to communicate clearly with our audience is to make sure our content tells a compelling story, both in words and images.
And we’re here to tell you that last-minute ‘throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks’ method of content creation just does not work.
It’s stressful, overwhelming, and very rarely leads to stellar results.
Whereas, if you put a little thought and planning into what you’re sharing, and get a bit of a process in place so you know what steps to take, you’ll likely start seeing your content driving between 10 to 30% of your website traffic and sales.
So let’s dive in and go through my 10 steps to nailing your content plan.
By the end of this episode, you will be a well-oiled content marketing machine that will take the stress and overwhelm out of the job and help you generate consistent results in terms of traffic and sales.
And to help you with this, make sure you download my free content planning guide and template. You can get instant access to this tool by heading to https://www.catherinelangman.com/content-planner

How To Create A Customer Avatar & Use It To Get Better Results
Do you ever feel a bit deflated when you log into your social media platforms and see hardly any likes, comments or shares?
Pretty dang frustrating isn’t it?
Moral of the story?
Not everyone is going to be obsessed with you.
And the sooner you accept this, the better.
To counteract that, your brand needs a personality that’s distinctive and authentic – meaning you can’t publish a bunch of crap that you really don’t believe in or that doesn’t resonate with you at all.
The starting point to be able to achieve that is actually knowing who your peeps are in the first place!
So, I want to talk to you today about how you can use your customer avatar or buyer profile to simply and easily create better marketing and advertising content.
It’s pretty simple – don’t create content that does not appeal to or attract your ideal customers. (Though I see this happen plenty, believe me!)
Easy right?
Not when you don’t know your customer, like really really know them!
It all starts by understanding what turns you on, in a business sense...and then actively seeking out those kinds of people.
Doing this – keeping your peeps top of mind – helps you to create content and product offers that are appealing to them (and not to anyone else).
The end result? All your customers will learn to know, like and trust you. And when you’re selling online, that is pure gold. So buckle up because in this week's episode we are going to learn How To Create A Customer Avatar & Use It To Get Better Results!
