I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco with Hannah Seidlitz

Today's episode is about "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco" (Sam Jones, 2002). Widely considered one of the all-time greatest music documentaries, the film follows the band through the making of their breakthrough album "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot", the unstable relationship between lead singer/songwriter Jeff Tweedy and multi-instrumentalist Jay Bennett, and the legendary tale of the album being rejected by their record label only to be issued by another label under the same corporate umbrella.

Check out our interview with the director of this film, Sam Jones, elsewhere in the podcast feed. Great guy, great conversation.

Our Very Special Guest is Hannah Seidlitz of The New Yorker.
