How To Prevent Lower Non-trauma Athletic Injuries With Kolby Condos
02/21/18 • 59 min
In this podcast session we are going into how to test athletes for prevention of lower extremity injuries with over 80% certainty. Insane right?! Dr. Kolby Condos is going to talk about testing, movements and correction protocols with biofeedback.
What is biofeedback? Funny, it seems to be a rather undefined term as you’ll hear on the interview but this isn’t a bad thing. Many clinics are doing this already without even knowing it.
Studies:
Some other topics we hit:
- STARs Excursion Test
- The Cerebellum
- Non-traumatic ACL Injuries
- Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
- Mudding
- Steaks
Dr. Kolby Condos grew up in Lyman, WY and attended the University of Wyoming before deciding to become a Chiropractor. He then moved to Bloomington, MN and graduated with his bachelors in Biology and his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Science University. Dr. Kolby is also a board certified Functional Neurologist, and received his education through the Carrick Institute and the International Association of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation. He is also well versed in functional medicine and continues to pursuit higher education in metabolic conditions that may affect patients.
During his spare time, Dr. Kolby enjoys fishing and being on the lake during the summer and winter months. He also enjoys traveling back to his home state of Wyoming to spend time with his family, working on the family ranch, and hunting and fishing in the mountains. He is very excited to bring a new healthcare model to a highly under-served region of Minnesota.

Beyond the Bands: Corrective Exercise For Knee Rehab With Scott Dunaway
Many of you have spent tons of time with physio bands if you’ve had a knee injury. In this podcast session, I speaking with Dr. Scott Dunaway, who is all about the band... but also getting beyond it.
Rehab exercises, as all exercises, have progression and regressions. Bands are great when they’re needed but your rehab should go well beyond the band.

- eHealth
- Coconut Oil Issues
These are just a few of the topics we hit.
Dr. Scott Dunaway is a chiropractor and owner of ChiroStrength in Clarksville and Nashville Tn. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry and Entrepreneurship. After this, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree is from Logan College of Chiropractic.
Dr. Dunaway is full body certified in Active Release Technique, which brings most of the treatment focus around the soft tissues themselves and not just the joints. This focus in the clinic has shifted to embracing the E-health model as clinician, consultant and educator under the Chirostrength brand though e-books, e-courses, and various social media outlets.

Quotes:
- Any shoe these days have a heel lift and a smaller front. That automatically puts (the ankles) into plantar flexion.
- Hey why don’t you tell me what happened on rep 6,7, & 8... That gives them a moment to pause and think about what they just did (good or bad rep).
- If you’re inundated with texts, emails or you’re thinking about work then that 90% 1RM becomes dangerous. Pay attention to the moment.
- {to a random gym goer} I see you’re doing goblet squats. I love kettlebells bro... All I want you to do, is try that one without your shoes on man... and see how it feels.
