Quietly Visible - Don't Be Held Back Because You Don't Throw Your Toys Out of the Pram

Don't Be Held Back Because You Don't Throw Your Toys Out of the Pram

Quietly Visible

I frequently speak to introverted women who have seen less experienced and less qualified colleagues get ahead of them because their colleagues throw their toys out of the pram and they don't. Because they don't kick up a fuss and make noise if they are unhappy about things, they get overlooked. In this episode, I talk about this and the negative stereotypes that are often portrayed about introverted women.

Networking for Career Success as an Introverted Woman

Many introverted women underestimate the power of networking and how they can use it to catapult them in their careers, as leaders, and to increase their influence and impact. Because they don't like making small talk, or because it drains their energy, they avoid it.

Research highlights the benefits to be gained from networking, but in my work I come across many women who are not utilising it as part of their career and leadership progression. In this episode I talk about some of the benefits from networking, and how to make it a more enjoyable experience if you hate it.

All Work and No Play Leaves You Stressed and Heading for Burnout, So Disconnect on Your Summer Break

Learning to switch off is essential if you are to avoid stress and head towards burning out. Most of us already know this but often we put it off, telling ourselves we’ll do something about it when things calm down a bit or when we get on top of things. But the reality is, unless we proactively do something about it, that day will never come and we will continue to press on, letting work consume us.

Many of us take work home with us, or work whilst on holiday, and as a result, don't totally switch off. In this episode I talk about the importance of taking a break and disconnecting from work on your summer break.
