PSYCHOTIC BUMP SCHOOL PODCAST
For this comprehensive and extended episode that aired on June 15, 2017, TE RUSS and DJ ROME welcomed 4 distinguished guests to discuss the current plight of the global African American community. Representing both Compton California and Shreveport Louisiana, educator/entrepreneur ZOLTAN SHARIF (Black To The Basics Bookstore-Grambling State University) speaks about the importance of seizing opportunities within the community as a means of economic empowerment. Mr. Sharif also speaks about his enduring friendship with Neo-Soul superstar ERYKAH BADU, her role in contributing toward the original and re-emerging Black To The Basics Bookstore, and his appearance in her 1997 debut music video "ON and ON." Mrs. CHRISTINA XLIMIT also joined the discussion but only MOMENTS after her husband was victimized by an assault and robbery at the hands of three assailants. But steadfast and poised and after a safety check, Mrs XLimit was ultimately able to harness her resiliency enough to share her perspectives gained from her experiences with the Black Lives Matter movement in Denver Colorado. For a global/historical context, DR. DONTRANEIL CLAYBORNE, professor, world traveler, and purveyor of the African diaspora shares his views on Africans throughout the world and the importance of establishing and maintaining a connection between Africans worldwide and those within our domestic communities here in America. And returning for the second time, comedian/political commentator Mr. JEFFREY KELLER from 90.7 FM KPFK in Los Angeles steps in to offer his conscious and comedic discourse regarding that very slippery slope where entertainment meets with politics (ala Bill Cosby, Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher, and the "N" word). A far-reaching and all-encompassing episode awaits you with this one so press play and enjoy.
