34. Podcast Audience Interaction: From Passive Listeners to Passionate Participants
04/02/24 • 25 min
On this week's episode of Up An Octave, I'm talking about how to thin the veil between podcaster and audience member to help you make a show that connects with your audience. This helps you develop a community of die hard fans, whether your goal is to sell out a theatre, or sell out a yoga retreat, having a listener community ready to go to bat for you is the key to making your podcast a success.
What You'll Learn:
- Different methods of connecting with your audience through social media
- The benefit of inviting audience members to participate in your show
- Crowdsourcing your content to avoid podfade
Today's question comes from Sam, who's thinking about starting a travel podcast.
Special Offer:
- It's time to take your podcast to paradise with my 4 day bootcamp, April 15th - 18th.
- We'll be talking about how to deeply connect with your audience
- Using storytelling as soft-selling
- Turning supportive listeners into your street team
- Creating a listener's journey that converts

35. Pass The Mic: Tanya Ambrose from T.E.A. With Tanya: Transforming. Every. Aspect.
On this week's episode of Up An Octave, I'm passing the mic to top 5% podcast host Tanya Ambrose, maternal and child health expert, doula, certified lactation consultant, and founder of Scrub Life Cares.
We talked about how her show has evolved from being an Instagram Live series to the successful podcast that it is today, as well as how she's claimed her accent as her superpower, and has grown confidence to stand in her authenticity.
We also chat about how we met and started working together, and I spill my own tea about meeting her from a hospital bed.
