'Clear' is NOT Basic, 'Succinct' IS Sophisticated
Ep. 56 -
How can your teen write with sophistication, but without being verbose?
How do they give detail, whilst also being succinct?
Is it better for your teen's writing to be clear but more basic, or all professional and fancy-sounding?
And how can they get the perfect combination of detailed AND concise, withOUT the waffle?
In this episode, I'm dishing the details on why
-'Clear' is NOT the same as 'Basic'
and
'- Succinct' does NOT mean 'Simple'
when it comes to your teen's writing!

When Results DO Matter
Ep. 58.
Have you ever heard a celebrity, or even your teen's school, proclaim that their 'results don't matter'?
Maybe you've said it to your teen.
Maybe they've said it to you.
I'd love for this statement, which honestly feels pretty extreme, to stop being banded around every year.
And I'd love for students, parents and anyone else who wants to care about results, to feel like they have the permission to care about them and go after them.
I get that we don't want students pinning everything on their grades or exam results,
but do we need to go straight to the other end of the spectrum, just to balance it out?
Because in the big scheme of life, I totally agree - their results DON'T matter.
But sometimes for some students, in some ways... (which when joined together make a LOT of ways)... they DO.
