In this episode, Dale Turcotte speaks about the unspeakable horrors he endured as a child that led to him being trapped in a cycle of anger, violence, and addiction later on. Dale opens up about his traumatic experiences with drug addict and neglectful parents that eventually led him to the foster care system where he faced more abuse in the hands of sexual predators. Consumed by all the pent up anger Dale took the law into his own hands that resulted in a tragic act that landed him in prison. He also talks about his own battle with addiction in his latter years, which was his final rock bottom, where he contemplated ending his own life. Against all odds, Dale's story takes a remarkable turn as he discovers a newfound strength within himself. Through resilience and unwavering determination, he embarks on a journey of healing and self-transformation. Dale's story serves as a powerful reminder that no matter how bleak things may seem, there is always hope for redemption and a chance to rewrite one's own narrative.

A Buddhist and Frances Perkins Scholar, Claire's journey to scholarship began during her childhood in Barbados when she sought relief from the chaos of living under domestic violence. Claire uses her creative works and writings to encourage 'women-identified and femme-expressing' trauma-survivors to utilize art for self-improvement. In the 1990s, standing at The Door of No Return in Senegal, where enslaved people last saw their homeland, she reaffirmed her purpose: to overcome intergenerational trauma.
