9. The Cryptids of Our National Parks (USA)
Explicit content warning
10/30/24 • 33 min
Our national parks are beautiful and contain many beautiful sights: from flowing rivers to snow capped mountain peaks to orange desertscapes. But do they also hold much more sinister sights that only few see while visiting? These parks are ancient, dark, and deep. Is it possible that there once were or still are ancient creatures that reside in them? Tune in to hear about some of the cryptids of the U.S. National Parks.
We visit the following national parks in this episode:
Yosemite National Park
Crater Lake National Park
Voyageurs National Park
Grand Canyon National Park
Wind Cave National Park
Great Sand Dunes National Park
Glacier National Park

8. Fall at Half Dome (Yosemite National Park, California)
A father-daughter hike on Half Dome in Yosemite National Park turns deadly after warnings from park rangers are ignored. Since the cable was installed 103 years ago, in total 10 people have died on the cable route and 6 of them occurred when the granite was wet, including the most recent tragedy in July 2024. This is a cautionary tale of the most recent death in Yosemite.

10. The Missing Ranger (Chiricahua National Monument, Arizona)
When an experienced park ranger sets out on his daily walk to make sure all is well, no one suspects anything bad could happen in that 1 mile walk. The ranger never returned from his walk and has never been seen again. Despite searches, tips, and theories, this ranger has been missing for the past 44 years. This is one of the largest and longest-running missing persons cases in National Park Service history.
If you have any information about this case, please contact the NPS Investigative Services Branch at 202-379-4761. Email: [email protected]. Submit a tip here.
