June 07, 2020. Fryent Country Park, Kingsbury, north-west London, England. On June 7th, 2020, Sisters Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman were celebrating Henry's 46th birthday on a dark hill in a London park when they were fatally attacked and killed by an assailant brandishing a blade. 36 hours later their bodies were discovered laid out in the undergrowth, posed together. They had been stabbed more than thirty times, the perpetrator then dragged their bodies into a thicket to conceal them before fleeing the scene. Injured, the killer left behind a large amount of his own blood that would eventually lead police directly to him and his bizarre motivation behind the brutal slayings.

January 15th, 1974. Wichita, KS. A boy opens the back door to let the family dog out and a man makes his way into the house. He is armed with a gun. The family inside consists of a husband and wife as well as two of their five children. They have no idea that the man is there to kill them. Expecting only to be robbed they are compliant at first. His pattern would be to bind them, torture them, & kill them. These four were just the beginning. For 30 years BTK would elude the authorities. Then, in 2004, an arrest is made. His own family was shocked. In his confession, serial killer Dennis Rader detailed his crimes and revealed how he operated.

On October 27, 2016 in Henry County Georgia, four people were killed during a bonfire party. Two men were indicted and charged with murder. One confessed to the murders and told officers that he was solely responsible. Authorities charged the other man with murder anyway and placed him in jail. In 2021, this man was re-indicted on 30 charges, and the state is seeking the death penalty. He still awaits trial 7 years after the killings.

January 2013, Yuba City, CA. In a small town north of Sacramento, CA, 94-year old Leola Shreves was found dead in her home by her son-in-law. Windows were broken and Leola had been badly beaten. After only a few months, police arrested and obtained a confession from Leola’s neighbor, Michael Alexander. Ultimately the charges against Alexander were dropped after DNA evidence vindicated him from the false confession. Six years after Leola’s death, familial DNA tracing led to the arrest and conviction of Armando Cuadras.
