Who am I?

Brooklyn born and raised. Now living in Jersey. I am a mom and work full time but I also love listening to podcasts while I work or do chores. I’m also a part time podcast host and cupcake maker. Love feeling like I can do something good for someone. Definitely not an expert but I love the crowd source model. I love the fact that we can help each other. When I was young a friend of mine went missing and was never found. I’ve always wished I could’ve somehow helped bring her home.

My Show

What is my podcast about and/or how does it relate to the playlist topic you chose?

I want to help people too. I feel as though there are so many stories about missing loved ones and not enough platforms for all the stories to be heard. I want to help bring awareness. But I want to do this with a twist. While I absolutely want to give a platform to people who are looking for a missing lives one, I also want to broaden the spectrum. Simply put, I want to help people find answers.

What is my podcast playlist about?

I’m a true crime junkie. I listen to these because they are either trying to help solve cases, find missing people, open our minds to other possibilities, or help a wrongfully convicted person.

The podcasts I picked and why

1. Truth & Justice with Bob Ruff

Why this podcast?

I found this show after being obsessed with Serial and wanted more on the subject. Bob has moved on from that first season to truly be an inspiration. He has shifted into working full time to help correct wrongful convictions, as well as actively trying to solve cases. He speaks eloquently and you can hear the passion he has for the subject.

3. The Generation Why Podcast

Why this podcast?

This is one that I’ve also been listening to for many years. They do a good job in laying out the facts of the case for the listener. While I do not always agree with the hosts take on the cases they present, I do respect the fact that they are respectful when giving their opinions.

I like this because it’s solely focused on missing persons. The host really does her due diligence while researching and really tries to shed light on many older cases that may not be getting much attention.

5. Real Crime Profile

Why this podcast?

This show truly speaks to me as a psych degree holder. Jim Clemente and Laura Richards are so knowledgeable and so insightful. I love how they breakdown cases and speak on profiling. I also love the fact that Laura is from the UK so it’s a nice variance of having that perspective as well.
