What happens when you combine the genius of Ryan Reynolds, David Griner (Adweek's International Editor and Host of the Adweek Podcast), and Dionna Dorsey Calloway (Founder of District of Clothing)?
Together, they co-founded an incredible nonprofit called The Creative Ladder, focused on making creative industries more reflective of the communities they serve, while connecting, inspiring and elevating a new generation of creative leaders.

I'd love to hear from you! Send me a text message here and let me know what you thought about the episode. :)

There's 50 million people worldwide that claim themselves as creators. Even more fascinating? That equates to a $100 BILLION dollar industry, which leads me into today’s conversation with Tania Bhattacharyya, founder of Lumos Marketing, all about personal branding and the importance and relevance of it.
In case you needed to hear this, you ARE a thought leader and a subject matter expert! I know there is something that you could talk about for hours that somebody else cannot. Tania shares so many gems around why nonprofit leaders need to be publishing content on LinkedIn, the self-assessment you can take right now to update your profile, and why we need to be intentional when it comes to AI tools. In This Episode:

  • Looking at the “mosaic” of your life to pinpoint the defining moments (and why this is a great place to start when sharing your story)
  • How to build thought leadership on LinkedIn to be in the company of other founders, movers, and shakers
  • Tania’s powerful tips around showing up as an “approachable authority”
  • How to go visible on autopilot for an entire quarter using Tania’s “Lazy on LinkedIn” strategy (this idea is gold!)
  • The importance of watching your social media analytics so you can repurpose your most popular posts

Google Ad Grants are an INCREDIBLE resource for nonprofits! Imagine having $10,000 every single month to amplify awareness, generate leads and hopefully new donors, too! But it takes some finesse to make it all work.
Today, Chris Barlow from Beeline Marketing is breaking it all down for us in this in-depth case study. He’ll share how one of their clients used this exact strategy to bring in hundreds of new leads each month. This episode was so much fun for me to dig into and I truly hope you geek out as much as I did.
For the month of December, I'm bringing together some amazing experts who are sharing powerful marketing case studies that have triggered exploration and innovation. Check out Episode 47 with Krista Ferrara to hear the secret to generating over 40 media hits in a year!

Gloria Umanah created a movement when she founded Hope Booth – shifting from dynamic event planning, to providing a beacon of hope to those facing loneliness during the 2020 pandemic.
The Hope Booth remodels old telephone booths and provides individuals an innovative, interactive, and immersive experience to encounter hope, affirm their dignity, and serve as a connection point to finding local help and support for all of humanity; from the individual living on the streets to the CEO of a fortune 500.
In this episode of Missions to Movements, Gloria shares this incredible journey of how she generated buzzworthy success with a line of people waiting to experience the Hope Booth at South by Southwest (SXSW).
You’ll also hear all about Hope Booth's physical installation and the global movement she’s creating through their monthly giving program. The Ponce City Market installation in Atlanta is just the beginning. The first installation has had more than 41,000 people experience the Hope Booth, with a 77% completion rate!
When it comes to supporting mental health, action speaks louder than words. Gloria emphasizes the impact of community involvement, whether through getting access to decision-makers, donations, or amplifying their digital voice.
As a monthly supporter of the Hope Booth myself, I invite you to not just absorb the beautiful stories and strategies shared today, but to join us in their mission of hope, solidarity, and connection.

Too many companies treat social media like a hobby, rather than a pillar of their digital marketing strategy. There, I said it.

If you’ve been thinking about growing your marketing team to include a social media role and you’re wondering, where do I find a social media unicorn? And, what does realistic compensation look like? You’re in the right place.

Social media is hands down the most cost-effective way to increase visibility and online exposure for your organization. And only 44% of nonprofits have just ONE team member managing their social media presence.

In this episode, I’m sharing the five signs you absolutely NEED to hire a social media manager (and how to find them!)
