The Myths Around Productivity
10/06/21 • 39 min
The myths around productivity are hurting both your productivity AND your mental health. Mythologies always have a purpose for being created, usually to explain something or to illustrate a cultural ideal. These myths of productivity were generated to turn abusive labor practices into an internalized cultural ideal that we then perpetuate upon ourselves. This narrative leads us to abuse ourselves to live up do this mythology’s “good person” and the belief that if we are good enough we will eventually achieve some future dream life.
In this episode of Unlimited, I call out the lies that have become our myths around productivity and invite you into a new narrative of holistic wellness and sustainable living.
Some of what I talk about in this episode includes:
- The definition of productivity and its impact
- Stories you tell yourself that keep you stuck
- Motivation and the story of lazy
- Re-thinking time management
- Creating a process that supports you
Thank you for listening and be sure to tune in next week for more tips on motivation and time management!

Empowering Evolution In Your Work with Myrna Daramy
Empowering evolution in your work is first and foremost about recognizing that you CAN evolve. You are not confined to what you currently know or the way you currently are or even what you’ve done in the past. With that belief, each choice becomes an opportunity to evolve into MORE the person you want to be both in experience and impact. This mindset is key to creating content that is accessible and meets people where they’re at because it allows for curiosity over judgement. It enables you to learn new things, let go of what isn’t working, and make new choices that create new outcomes.
In this episode of Unlimited, the podcast, I invited Myrna Daramy to join me in a conversation around empowering yourself to evolve your work in a way that supports you AND the difference you want to make in the world.
Some of the things we talk about in this episode are:
- Being informed not confined by binary boxes
- The difference between evolving and scaling
- What it means to be accessible as a digital creator
- Showing up authentically
- Defining what being an expert looks like for YOU
Thank you for listening!

What’s Killing My Motivation?
What’s killing my motivation and how do I fix it are two questions many clients come to me with. They usually have something they want and can’t seem to get themselves to DO what they need to do to get it. There are lots of reasons they think are the problem – they don’t know the right thing to do, they have a mindset issue, they need to be more organized, more disciplined, manage their time better, etc. While there may be some truth to these beliefs, they are surface issues, which is why people struggle to solve them on their own.
In this episode of Unlimited, I explore the deeper issues that may be killing your motivation and share some solutions to re-energize taking action.
Some of what I talk about in this episode includes:
- Beliefs about motivation that sabotage you
- Understanding motivation
- What’s wrong with Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs
- Patterns of confidence and self-doubt in compassionate people
- Check ins to increase motivation
Thank you for listening and be sure to tune in next week for more tips on motivation and time management!
