You Can Do It (Carrie Wallis)
Making It: How to Be a Successful Online Entrepreneur
11/18/22 • 12 min
To find out more, head to coachesconsole.com/getCBS
Welcome to Making It! This weekly show explores the lives and stories of entrepreneurs as they share their unique perspectives on their success and the path to making it.
Carrie Wallis is the founder of Enlighten U Solutions. She is a bestselling author, coach and speaker who is passionate about helping other service-based entrepreneurs succeed.
“I know all too well from losing my husband at a young age that we don't have that long on this earth, and we don't actually know how long we're going to have. So what's the point of spending that time trapped in a world or a job that you don't like?”
– Carrie Wallis
Author of the best-seller From Strangers to Clients and her signature client attraction system of the same name, Carrie Wallis also runs the confidence-building program "Shine From Within". She is regularly asked to speak and her programs have been endorsed by the Australian Counselling Association, the International Coaching Federation, and the School of Volunteer Management in Australia.
Carrie works with professionals lacking confidence and a tendency to self-sabotage. Also, small business owners in the help professions: coaches, therapists, and healers. She works with newbies, just starting out for whom marketing is a dirty word as well as those established ready to grow and scale.
She is proud to have overcome many setbacks, not least of which was the death of her husband leaving her a single mum of two young children. It was this event that caused a major turnaround in her coaching practice, turning it from an enjoyable 'hobby-income' since 2000, into a serious, consistently profitable practice from 2009 to the present day.
When not serving her clients, you will find her sipping a glass of fine wine with her beloved family or out walking in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia.

The Freedom to Choose (Liam Austin)
Making It: How to Be a Successful Online Entrepreneur
02/18/22 • 14 min
To find out more, head to coachesconsole.com/getCBS
Welcome to Making It! This weekly show explores the lives and stories of entrepreneurs as they share their unique perspectives on their success and the path to making it.
Liam Austin is the co-founder of Entrepreneurs HQ, a company that works with experts to promote virtual events for business owners. As a professional soccer player, Liam began learning from coaches at a young age. One lesson he kept was “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. Liam took that advice straight into adulthood and entrepreneurship.
In this episode of Making It, Liam shares his journey along the uncertain road to successful business ownership–from imposter syndrome to true priorities. Making it has less to do with your success and more to do with what you give to those you impact or hold close to your heart.
“Every shot, every chance you get, take it; say ‘yes’, because that's going to take you on a journey to making it.”
“I didn’t want most of my life to be spent doing something I didn’t love doing that didn’t give me the freedom to be flexible with my time.”
– Liam Austin
Liam Austin is a virtual-events strategist for people and businesses looking to increase their authority, grow their email list (and audience), build a network of influencers, generate additional income and make an impact.
His online small business community, Entrepreneurs HQ, attracts experts to cover key topics of interest to our audience of 150,000+ small business owners. Liam works with these key partners to help promote virtual events, giving free value to audiences whilst partners benefit from exposure and income.
His passion for entrepreneurship began whilst at Macquarie University when he was tasked with growing strategic partnerships for one of the top tech startups in Sydney, Soulmates Technology. This foray into tech led Liam to begin building and running his own businesses online. For 4 successive years he juggled study and business with being a professional football (soccer) player in Australia's national competition, playing for Wollongong Wolves and Sydney United.
His unique and innovative business development and sales skills have taken him from Australia to Europe to America. He has been featured in multiple publications, including BRW, The Australian, Inc., Startup Smart, Real Estate Business, Property Observer, and others. Liam was ranked in the top 5 startups at Sydstart 2014 and placed first at the "Skillsapien Pitch to Silicon Valley Series 2014", winning a trip to Silicon Valley.
