Bio:
Born into a family of carnival owners in Texas, USA, Maxwell Ivey lost his sight at age 12. Having a natural gusto for life, Max graduated college and became heavily involved in the Eagle Scouts. He underwent gastric surgery and lost over 250 pounds. He started his own business, buying and selling amusement rides, and learned how to blog using software for visually-impaired people. Overcoming many obstacles, Max made a name for himself online and now shares his experiences on The Blind Blogger.

#007: How to Become a Master in Your Niche
How to Become a Master in Your Niche
Becoming a master in your niche is probably a lot more simple than you thought.
In this episode, I will break down some different steps you can take to become a master and stand out above the noise on the internet in your specific niche.
Enjoy the episode!
Key topics discussed in this episode:
- More often than not, people give up before they start to see results, they never allow themselves to achieve mastery.
- Hang your hat- figure out what niche you want to master, and then focus.
- It’s important to focus on a niche that you are actually passionate about
- Set an intention to learn something new every day in your niche.
- You do not have to be an expert in order to teach something
- Don’t expect big results immediately
3 Ways to Become a Master in Your Niche
- Study Your Topic– get involved in your niche, immerse yourself
- Interview Experts in Your Niche– look for patterns and best practices, use the content on your blog or podcast.
- Read books on Your Topic (if you read at least 6 books on your topic you will be in the top 10% of experts in your niche.
- When people see you learning consistently, they will see that you are committed to becoming a master and they will follow you and take you seriously
- The continuity of learning is mastery, we never actually ‘arrive’.
- If we don’t stay up to date, our content becomes irrelevant.
2 Ways to Provide Value in Your Niche
- Research and Report– learn from other people’s perspectives and condense what you learn and share it.
- Personal Experience – your life credibility is more valuable than any degree that you could acquire.
- Don’t be afraid to share the small victories, they are often what makes the biggest difference for people.
- If you’ve done the research AND you have personal experience, that will put you in the best positioning of all.
- Don’t compare yourself to others, nobody else in the world has the same experiences and life credibility as you.
Challenge: Read one book and do one interview per month. Stay on the master’s path!
The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.
