George Kohlrieser is Distinguished Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour at the Institute of Management Development (IMD) Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is the creator and director of IMD’s High Performance Leadership Program and of the Advanced High Performance Leadership Program. George is an international best-selling, award-winning author, a veteran hostage negotiator, organizational and clinical psychologist, media spokesperson, consultant and global keynote speaker. Additionally, he is the Chairman and President of the Kohlrieser Leadership Institute based in Basel, Switzerland. George and I recently connected in the heart of the Swiss Alps, to facilitate the AHPL Program for former HPL participants. Together, under his leadership, we coached and trained senior leaders to become better versions of themselves. I am honoured to have him on the show, where we discuss his philosophy on leadership, the importance of managing emotions in difficult situations, and ways of improving leadership and negotiation competency.
