By way of introduction I’m Rogelio Quintanar aka Coach Q. I’m a certified running coach and race director that has been a part of the endurance community for over 35 years. I’ve run races from fun runs to ultras and race directed the same. Over the course of my tenure in the distance community I’ve met all sorts of players that inhabited that world. I want to invite you to join us at the Lane One podcast to hear conversations, discussions, and debates with the colorful characters that inhabit the running and endurance ecosystem. Each conversation will take the listener into the world of the well known and not so well known provocateurs that are the heart and soul of this world. But the conversation won’t stop there. We’ll also chat with the lesser known stars that inhabit this world such as the timers, the emts, the volunteers, and the waste management to gain their perspective and hear their stories. The conversation is always casual and the topics on point.

Libby discovered running in her hometown of Whitehall, MI. At a young age she would accompany her dad on his training runs. In high school she had plans on playing soccer but cross country and track had a stronger pull. She ran collegiately at Central Michigan University (CMU) where she was a captain on both the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Her coach at CMU, Karen Lutzke, would prove to be a pivotal force in Libby's pursuit of her Olympic dreams. Libby graduated with a degree in Biomedicine in 2009. From there she took a break from competitive running and it wasn't until she was studying for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy that she decided to train for her first marathon. In 2013 she ran the Grand Rapids Marathon and she was hooked. In 2019 she met the qualifying standard at the Grand Ma's Marathon and punched her ticket to the Olympic Trials that were held in Atlanta in 2020. She currently lives in Michigan with her husband, enjoys gourmet donuts, and runs with the Red Cedar Running Club. You can find Libby on Instagram at: @libby_bigelow_ and learn more about Red Cedar Running at: @redcedarelite
