IT'S. ALL. DAY. - The ATG Mentor- Keegan Smith

The ATG Mentor- Keegan Smith

IT'S. ALL. DAY.

In today's episode I sit down and chat with Aussie Keegan Smith, aka The ATG Mentor.

Keegan grew up playing multiple sports, but Rugby and Hockey were his main sports. His dad was a Rugby team head coach and because of that he grew up in and around a professional sports team environment. This helped him develop as an athlete himself, at one point trying to make it on the olympic team for Australia.

In school and university he was always curious but didn't love the traditional school system, he preferred to teach himself because he felt like the teachers at his school were just there to go through the motions. He ended up with a sport science degree but for the majority of his 20s spent his time backpacking do odd jobs to make ends meet because he hadn't exactly figured out what he wanted to do and what his path was. His health fell off during this time.

After multiple years backpacking his felt he was ready to head home; he started training in the rugby gym where his dad was the head coach pushing himself to become better, working with the assistant coach at the time during odd hours of the day. He felt like he could do something with his training and coaching at home but found himself heading off to France to become the Head Strength Coach at a struggling Rugby team.

It was here his coaching career starting to gain some momentum. He helped a team that finished last place the previous year finish around 10th in the table after his first year and then his 2nd year his team finished in the top 4 showing great signs of improvement in their athletic performances.

In was in this team environment he first started to notice how if you put people in the right environments they can achieve more than they previously thought was possible. This became one of Keegan's first interests in trying to solve.

This led to Keegan starting his own online education platform where we would work and connect with other coaches trying to build their business' and help their athletes. Years later he found Ben Smith, the creator of The ATG System that helps athletes bulletproof their knees and increase their athletic potential. This system was the first system that could put a lot of Keegan's previous ideas into a simple and easy to understand system athletes and coaches could use.

After a little bit of time connecting with Ben he created ATG for coaches which is a community and education platform that helps teach other coaches, athletes and the like how to use this system and spread its message effectively.

This is how Keegan became The ATG Mentor.

After this part of the podcast we switch gears and talk about early adoption into the crypto and NFT space; something Keegan has been researching intensely for awhile. If you haven't fulled grasped the concept of NFTs and Crypto then this part of the podcast will help you tremendously. It was great help for me as well.

We finish off with a talk about some philosophy, we dive into some of Keegan's core values, we speak about how family can be a benefit for some and not for others depending on the relationship, and finally we close with a discussion on how it is vitally important to "pursue what it meaningful, not expedient" something that can be difficult in a day and age like this.

I had an amazing time connecting on a deeper level with one of my coaches and think that any person can benefit from this conversation and hearing Keegan share his story and his principles for life!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Life Update: COVID & Lessons Learned From IFCA Event

The New Year has started off with me getting COVID finally...took me 2 years for it to happen and I gotta say, it was ROUGH.

I ended up having two really tough days but after that the rest of my days haven't been that bad. It did end up making me miss my trip to Arizona this weekend to attend the IFCA Live Event. This is an event put on by my mentors for fitness coaches so we can learn from people ahead of us as well as connect with other coaches who are in the same position we are in.

Even though I couldn't be there in person I got tremendous value from watching virtually and am sharing my lessons learned from the speakers on this episode.

The lessons include things like:
-More vulnerable.⁣
-Live by my values.⁣
-Take more action.⁣
-Ask really hard questions.⁣
-Don’t hide behind your fears. ⁣
-Create a community for my clients.⁣

I go into much more detail in the episode and bring some fire/motivation when sharing so I hope you enjoy and take some lessons yourself from this episode!

Self Mastery, Personal Development, Mental Health and Fitness

Today you get to hear me from a different point of view, instead of doing the interview I am being interviewed by my fellow coach Zak Woodward on his new podcast, The ATP Podcast.

If you recall, Zak has been on the show twice (Episode 7&8) and now instead of talking training principles we are diving DEEP into the nutrition and mindset side of personal development.

This side of health and fitness is always something that I personally love getting into because for me the mindset side of things is where I made the most improvements in my life.

In today's podcast I share a lot of important moments of my life that showcase the importance of mental health and mindset transformation.

I talk about my bouts with depression, how therapy saved my life, the importance of meditation, journaling and other biohacking tools to keep myself in the best mental state as possible.

This podcast also helps show anyone who's interested in coaching how it can go way past just sets, reps and macros when it comes to working with a coach and how something going on mentally with you can be the biggest thing holding you back.

I hope you enjoy listening to this show!
