  • I’ve been gone for almost 3 months here’s what happened:
  • I had 2 romantic relationships blow up around this time. They blew up because of me tbh and thinking I could manage both of them
  • I tried to keep one of them alive but it was hurting me more than filling my cup up
  • My best friends mom got diagnosed with Cancer
  • My mom and her man got married and I officiated the wedding
  • Soccer season ended and I had 2 injuries I had to overcome from the season
  • I started my newest certification for OPEX which was 2 hours every Tuesday for 12 weeks and will take me a year to finish
  • My dad’s wife had been sick for the last 2 years and she just passed away a couple weeks ago
  • I let go of the relationship I tried to keep alive and that to me felt like someone in my life just died
  • Health complications I’ve been dealing with all year were persistent during this time of high stress
  • My business was slowly declining due to the fact that I was declining as a person
  • The reason I’m making this podcast is to share my struggles with you all so that you can relate and know you’re not alone when shit gets hard
  • But also made this podcast to share how looking back at these last 3 months; a lot of the pain I am going through now could’ve been avoided if I was able to forgo the immediate pleasure that most of my decisions gave me.
  • The 2 relationships blowing up is really what’s taken me out for this long. I did tell both of these people I wasn’t looking for anything serious and that I would be talking to other people but the way I handled it was poor and as a result it caused me more pain and grief
  • These relationships were great in their own ways but they weren’t serving me and helping me become the man I want to be or help my business because if my personal life is in turmoil, as a solopreneur that turmoil will effect my business so I have to be hyper vigialant of who I let in and if you’re out there trying to work on yourself then you need to be just as vigilant so you can avoid what I’ve been going through
  • The reason I made this podcast is to share my fuckups but also to call out anyone listening who is trying to make improvements in your life and ask them “what remarkably stupid things am I doing right now that I could change, that I would be willing to change?”
  • If you ask that question and really want to know the answer you’ll get some answers you don’t want to hear.
  • I didn’t want to let go of this relationship, its one I’ve had over the last 3 years of my life (with me from the beginning of my own coaching business) but in order to be the guy who can lead others, make 10k months consistently, be in quality shape, and have positive habits, rituals, friendships in my life then I had to let her go and its one of the hardest things I’ve done
  • I’m still hurting from it while recording and will probably still be hurting from it long after this podcast is posted but I’m making this now to share with you all that I’m choosing the harder choice now in life in the hopes that there is something better for me in the future and I urge you to do the same
  • I’ve had to do this along my journey plenty of times; first it was giving up junk foods, then it was stopping drinking, then it was putting the weed down, now its let the relationship go....
  • For you it might be a different vice but ask yourself is this vice getting me closer to my goal or just helping me think its okay that I’m never going to reach my targets I’ve set out?
  • If your vice is only for the latter then this podcast was made for you as a challenge to stop your self destruction for 60 days and then evaluate and see if you want it back in your life or not.
  • I’ve already started, now it’s your turn!

IT'S. ALL. DAY. - Why You Need Crystal Clear Goals
play

08/01/22 • 21 min

In today's episode I'm breaking down a conversation I had with a potential client this last week.

This potential client ended our conversation saying "lol nvm" after I asked her to get crystal clear on her goals.

This potential client also told me the reason she's looking for a new coach is because her last one didn't push her and let her go through the motions, and here I am trying to push her and not go through the motions and she's running away...this is not uncommon!

In fact, in my line of work I see people like this all the time. These people are your "yo-yo dieters" who hop from diet to diet or trainer to trainer because they still can't seem to be happy with the results their getting.

In this episode I give my opinion on what the solution for this type of person is even if its not what they want to hear. I believe that these people are suffering from unclear goals and unrealistic expectations which is ultimately setting them up for failure.

And what they don't realize is that if they hop from trainer to trainer or diet to diet and still don't get the results they want, what's the common denominator? You!

Its the fact that you don't actually know what you want, or if you do know what you want but its completely unrealistic and now you've set yourself an unrealistic target you'll never hit so now you're going to be constantly unhappy because you'll never meet your goal.

I believe these types of people need to take a step back, look int he mirror and ask themselves "Can I love myself where I'm at right now?" most of the time, the answer is no.

And if the answer is "no" right now it'll still be no when you're 5-10 lighter because it has nothing to do with the weight or the level of toneness you achieve, its about how you feel about yourself when you're by yourself.

The journey is a life long pursuit, stop thinking that you can short cut the journey by switching to the next fad diet or coach, get clear on your goals and be realistic about how long it's going to take!

This is the recipe for success in my opinion and why I shared today's podcast!

I hope you enjoy!

Today I sit down with Cali native, Benji-Stark Elster.

Benji is a 21 year old soccer player who is currently recovering from an ACL injury he had last August.

During Benji's soccer career he's had to overcome 3 major knee surgeries to be able to play the sport we both love and a common theme amongst all 3 injuries was that Benji used his time off the field when he was injured to better his life in any way possible.

Benji isn't the type of guy who likes to waste time, he even said on today's show when he had his fist knee surgery that the next day he spent hours playing chess just to be able to keep training his mind!

One thing Benji and I related on was being able to create new goals while dealing with injuries to keep your mind focused on progress vs stagnation.

Benji's injuries were:
-Meniscus tear on right knee
-Right knee cyst that needed operating on
-Left knee ACL Tear

The beauty of Benji's and my injury is that we have the tools using ATG to be able to rebuild ourselves so that when we get back on the field we're stronger than we were before.

For instance, the first time Benji got injured he used all that time to gain size and strength in his upper body while his lower body was recovering.

During his second injury as Benji was coming back he only trained his left side to allow his right leg to heal while at the same time, training his off leg to improve.

And lastly with his latest injury he's used this time to create another one of his many businesses which is Freak Athlete Equipment.

If you are someone who follows ATG training and this podcast and you are looking to get some of the training tools we use to build our legs up such as:
-Nordic Bench Mini
-Slant Board
-Slant Blocks
-Tib Bars

Today we have Carter Good on the show!

Carter is a fellow nutrition coach who has most definitely walked the walk along with being able to talk the talk. When Carter was in high school he went through a tough time while his parents divorce was a big scene in his small town.

As a coping mechanism to the stress Carter found comfort in food and ultimately ended up weighing at his heaviest 305lbs while being 5'11.

This was a gradual weight gain but eventually had to come to an end, Carter was able to drop about 150lbs and get back into shape and doing so, he gained some recognition from some fitness pages congratulating him on his achievement.

He decided afterwards that he had a love for fitness and ultimately wanted to help others have the same success he had. In today's show we talk about his business, his approach to coaching, how at some point everyone needs to have fitness be one of the most important things in their life if they ever want to find sustainability and so much more!

I was super excited to have Carter on and I hope you all enjoy the show!

IT'S. ALL. DAY. - Graham Tuttle: The Bare Foot Sprinter
play

02/21/22 • 65 min

In todays episode we sit down with Graham Tuttle!

Graham is a Coach much like myself but he actually only started his athletic career 5-6 years ago. Growing up he was actually the exact opposite of an athlete, this however, was only due to some physical struggles he had growing up.

When Graham was 2 years old he got his pair of glasses because he had terrible vision. As a result growing up wearing glasses he didn't have very much peripheral vision, this stunted his athletic ability greatly. It wasn't until much later in Graham's life that he started lifting as his way into starting his athletic journey.

Graham started with weightlifting because you didn't really need vision for lifting, you can be quite intuitive and "feel" the weight as you lift more than any sport that required hand eye coordination. But something funny happened.

Once he started lifting he realized that he is capable of making changes in his body and any aspect of his life he was lacking in only needed the skill development to get there. This was Graham's wind behind his sails and this started his athletic career.

Graham now is an ATG Endorsed Coach and has a running program specific to helping people gain strength, mobility and confidence in their running ability in 28 days that we talked about on todays show.

We dove deep into the aspect of your foot, and why strengthening them is so foundational to ones life. We get into the history of wear the first foam sole shoe came from and how Americans are degrading their foot strength since the birth of this foam sole shoe.

We talk about how you can start improving your foot health today with 3 tips Graham shares in the podcast and much more!

If you want to check out more of Graham's content you can find him @grahamtuttle.cscs

I hope you enjoy the show!

IT'S. ALL. DAY. - My Review of Dr. Jordan Peterson's Lecture
play

02/09/22 • 30 min

This last week I had the pleasure of attending one of Dr. Jordan Peterson's Lectures he was giving on his book tour through America. He was speaking primarily on Rule #4 from his newest book "Beyond Order 12 More Rules for Life".

Rule #4 is: Notice That Opportunity Lurks Where Responsibility Has Been Abdicated.

The overarching theme in my opinion was to encourage all of us to bear as much responsibility as possible, why?

Well for a couple reasons:

-The Majority of people these days are avoiding responsibilities and feel like they don't deserve to have success because of their existential guilt for having privilege in the first place and society is trying to cancel anyone who tries to succeed or go against the grain rich now.

-Because there is value in difficulty. Dr. Peterson talks about the importance of making yourself invaluable through doing difficult things and bearing responsibilities because without this your life ultimately has no purpose.

-He then explained further the point of Responsibility and Meaning in one's life, using the story of Peter Pan to illustrate what happens when you avoid responsibility and meaning.

-And finally he talked about the importance of rescuing your father from the belly of the beast with an Egyptian story about The God of Order Osirius and his son, The God of Attention Horus.

All and all I thought this was an amazing lecture and I hope I do his explanation justice in this podcast episode.

If you want to read more of Dr. Jordan Peterson's work you can find all his books on Amazon or any other major book retailer, as well as watch his own Podcast on Youtube!

IT'S. ALL. DAY. - The ATG Mentor- Keegan Smith
play

01/25/22 • 94 min

In today's episode I sit down and chat with Aussie Keegan Smith, aka The ATG Mentor.

Keegan grew up playing multiple sports, but Rugby and Hockey were his main sports. His dad was a Rugby team head coach and because of that he grew up in and around a professional sports team environment. This helped him develop as an athlete himself, at one point trying to make it on the olympic team for Australia.

In school and university he was always curious but didn't love the traditional school system, he preferred to teach himself because he felt like the teachers at his school were just there to go through the motions. He ended up with a sport science degree but for the majority of his 20s spent his time backpacking do odd jobs to make ends meet because he hadn't exactly figured out what he wanted to do and what his path was. His health fell off during this time.

After multiple years backpacking his felt he was ready to head home; he started training in the rugby gym where his dad was the head coach pushing himself to become better, working with the assistant coach at the time during odd hours of the day. He felt like he could do something with his training and coaching at home but found himself heading off to France to become the Head Strength Coach at a struggling Rugby team.

It was here his coaching career starting to gain some momentum. He helped a team that finished last place the previous year finish around 10th in the table after his first year and then his 2nd year his team finished in the top 4 showing great signs of improvement in their athletic performances.

In was in this team environment he first started to notice how if you put people in the right environments they can achieve more than they previously thought was possible. This became one of Keegan's first interests in trying to solve.

This led to Keegan starting his own online education platform where we would work and connect with other coaches trying to build their business' and help their athletes. Years later he found Ben Smith, the creator of The ATG System that helps athletes bulletproof their knees and increase their athletic potential. This system was the first system that could put a lot of Keegan's previous ideas into a simple and easy to understand system athletes and coaches could use.

After a little bit of time connecting with Ben he created ATG for coaches which is a community and education platform that helps teach other coaches, athletes and the like how to use this system and spread its message effectively.

This is how Keegan became The ATG Mentor.

After this part of the podcast we switch gears and talk about early adoption into the crypto and NFT space; something Keegan has been researching intensely for awhile. If you haven't fulled grasped the concept of NFTs and Crypto then this part of the podcast will help you tremendously. It was great help for me as well.

We finish off with a talk about some philosophy, we dive into some of Keegan's core values, we speak about how family can be a benefit for some and not for others depending on the relationship, and finally we close with a discussion on how it is vitally important to "pursue what it meaningful, not expedient" something that can be difficult in a day and age like this.

I had an amazing time connecting on a deeper level with one of my coaches and think that any person can benefit from this conversation and hearing Keegan share his story and his principles for life!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

If you would like to follow and connect with Keegan more his instagram is @theatgmentor as well as his YouTube page!

IT'S. ALL. DAY. - Life Update: COVID & Lessons Learned From IFCA Event
play

01/17/22 • 36 min

The New Year has started off with me getting COVID finally...took me 2 years for it to happen and I gotta say, it was ROUGH.

I ended up having two really tough days but after that the rest of my days haven't been that bad. It did end up making me miss my trip to Arizona this weekend to attend the IFCA Live Event. This is an event put on by my mentors for fitness coaches so we can learn from people ahead of us as well as connect with other coaches who are in the same position we are in.

Even though I couldn't be there in person I got tremendous value from watching virtually and am sharing my lessons learned from the speakers on this episode.

The lessons include things like:
-More vulnerable.⁣
-Live by my values.⁣
-Take more action.⁣
-Ask really hard questions.⁣
-Don’t hide behind your fears. ⁣
-Create a community for my clients.⁣

I go into much more detail in the episode and bring some fire/motivation when sharing so I hope you enjoy and take some lessons yourself from this episode!

Today I reflect on week one of my new big goal I'm after. If you didn't listen to my last podcast I'd highly recommend you check that out to hear about how and why I'm deciding to make the move to England in 2023 to try to make it on a pro soccer team.

After week one the biggest thing I realized that in order to achieve this goal I've got a lot of planning ahead to make this dream happen.

Things are a little different now versus when I was in college playing soccer, coaching at CrossFit and working on my degree. Even though that seems difficult the reality is that running a business, a podcast, having a relationship and just being older makes it more difficult because adulting takes more time.

Today I share the mindset around why you need a plan of attack if you're going to make some big changes in the 2022 and following this podcast I will break down how I am going to attack this next year to prepare for the big move.

I hope enjoy!

In todays episode we are talking about things a little different, finances!

Jonathon is an insurance broker, retirement specialist who has a sports background like myself playing soccer at the professional level for a couple years before a series of injuries cut his playing career short.

Today we sat down and talked about finances, an area of the world I believe a lot of us lack knowledge in, and as a result we lack our our financial security and freedom. Today Jonathon tells his story as well as educates on the value of getting into this world at whatever stage of life you're in!

The discussion shifted to common financial mistakes, with Chris pointing out that many individuals lack the discipline and knowledge to create effective financial plans. Jonathan likened financial planning to using a GPS, noting that many navigate their finances without a clear strategy. He identified procrastination and confusion over numerous financial options as major issues, leading to ineffective management and delayed retirement planning. Jonathan also highlighted key mistakes such as being unproactive and overly reliant on employer benefits, which can lead to financial instability, and encouraged seeking independent financial advisors for robust strategies.

Jonathan and Chris analyzed Dave Ramsey's financial principles, agreeing with many but identifying key disagreements, particularly regarding the snowball method for debt repayment and the necessity of credit scores. They advocated for permanent life insurance policies as a financial safety net. Jonathan discussed the changing financial landscape, noting the burden of debt many families face today compared to the past.

He emphasized the need for tailored financial strategies, especially for higher earners, and expressed confidence in Tony Robbins' financial insights. They concluded by discussing the importance of financial literacy and proactive planning, offering guidance for individuals to evaluate their circumstances and prepare for future challenges.

Some books we recommend on the show are:

  • Procrastination Cure - Jeffery Combs
  • How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling - Frank Bettger
  • Reinventing Yourself - Steve Chandler
  • Letting Go - David Hawkins
  • The Original Wall Street Journal - David Kansas
  • The Power of Zero - David McKnight
  • Money Master The Game - Tony Robbins (this was my first book and was a massive eye opener!)

Get these books and start going on your 90 day sprit now so in 2025 you finally have a grasp on your money and you have your GPS sets with the correct destination and the correct direction along the way.

Until next time guys,

Let’s Turn the page with Chris Page and move into the next chapter of your life!!
